Seventy people had been confirmed killed by the blast by late evening Wednesday, as reported by KHOU, the local CBS News affiliate, with "hundreds injured." Local news KXXV reports that among the dead are five firefighters and one police officer. State officials have yet to confirm these numbers.
Sixty-one others have been confirmed as admitted to Hillcrest Hospital in Waco, just one of the multiple emergency facilities in the area. Twelve of those are in critical condition, Hillcrest's CEO told CNN.
West's EMS director told local KTVT late Wednesday night that he, a doctor, and Justice of the Peace are getting set to "pronounce many people dead" at the scene.
"We have not received any word on the number of fatalities," a Hillcrest official told CNN Wednesday night.
Between 75-100 homes and businesses have been completely destroyed with the number injured exceeding 200, as per ABC News.

if you can pause it just right in the vid you can see the split second it explodes and begins to mushroom. It looks exactly like a nuke goes off.
Thats so insane.

It's likely that this explosion rivals or is slightly stronger than North Korea's nuclear arsenal.
Keep in mind that since this thing detonated at ground level much of the pressure wave was absorbed by the ground before reaching buildings further away.

I have seen a better video that includes the shockwave and more of the aftermath, the guy basically put the camera back to view the plant after explosion, cant seem to find it tho. Its the same angle as this one but doesnt have the wing mirror at all.
Insanely large explosion, I read that the only reason the people in the car didnt die is because the explosion actually bounced over the car.

It's because the suspect killed itself when it exploded.
Why report on an inanimate exploded object when you can report the troll information you're being fed on things you should be listening to only the police on?

Thursday I saw some info on it on the news, nothing new though, they just played a bunch of different collected videos and explained the damage.

The reports of the event aren't even thorough. Most of them amounted to "Welp, something in Texas exploded. Meanwhile, in Boston..." I mean, damn, I got more information reading about it on Jalopnik, of all friggin' places, than any actual general news outlet.
Also, the Texas blast actually killed more people than the Boston blast, including many of the first-responders who knowingly gave their lives to slow the fire down long enough for people to evacuate the area before it also levelled homes. Where are the incessant sob stories from relatives that keep showing up regarding Boston?

If you don't live in a major city, you don't actually exist. Did you also know that Australians only live along the band of coast from Melbourne to Brisbane?

Whether they did it or not is irrelevant, all that matters is the extremely grave and dire warnings the handling of this event gives us.
Oh by the way lets cut funding to the guys that do OH&S inspections on workplaces, i mean we could save alot of money. It only took nearly 30 years of neglect for this to happen, imagine how much longer we could stretch it out between inspections on other workplaces!
14 people dieing a day at work is totally acceptable.
There was nothing we could have done.
Nothing.

And I already got an alert email from Demand Progress detailing how politicians in Congress are already abusing the Boston event to push their agendas. Yippee!
Seriously, fuck this shit.
