A new Halo game on PC is an experience I'll never get to relive.. it's a shame. Looking forward to BF4 at least.

I study locally in a university and I know exactly why people play halo 1. Most of them before high school didn't even touch a computer, and now the easiest game that fits on every USB drive to play and install is either halo 1 or CS 1.6. Also the game is awesome and very accessible to anyone, also its the only game that runs on very low end hardware. Low income people who play MW3 and shit like that on their pc is less than 10% of the people in my UNI.

EVERYONE at my university plays it, its ridiculous. They are terrible at it, the portable version in spanish makes me cringe every time it says "MATANZA" instead of slayer.

I remember starting to mod this game when I was in sixth grade and was being exposed to an entire new community (halomaps and here, which at the time was h2vista.net). I'm a senior now and getting ready to graduate and don't mod it anymore but man, those times were great. I feel so much older now even though I'm one of the younger ones here it seems. Either way; It was definitely a learning experience.

About 6 months ago I joined a game that only had one person on it. The kid was amazed that I knew the map, and asked how long I had been playing. I told him 8.5 years, to which he said "woah I was like 3 then."
