You can only connect a guitar/bass. Who knows what RS2 may bring, they could end up adding support for digital drums I suppose. But I wouldn't hold your breath.

In a developer interview (on youtube somewhere) they mentioned that their tech isn't limited to guitar and bass.

I still play RockBand 3 quite a bit. So does P0lar_Bear. Still a super fun game. I recently got myself the "Pro Drums" and it's a fantastic upgrade. Customs? Nah, no need. I have ~500 songs on my Xbox library anyhow.
