So, I'm working on interior decorating. I need stuff to hang on my walls.
One of the things that I desperately want to do is something I saw when I played through Alan Wake last year. In Alan's New York City apartment, he had a this awesome 3-frame picture of the city.
See:

This is approximately what the original pic was:

Now, I'm not looking for the original pic exactly, but I want to do the same thing. But, I need a picture first. And I need something that is high enough of a resolution to be framed at that large size. So, the first thing I need to know is what resolution would be required to get a high quality and non-blurry print?
Secondly, if you guys have any suggestions for art (or where to find it), show me! I want the picture to be of Manhattan's skyline. But, I don't really think I want a picture from across any river. The thing I like about the art in Alan Wake is that it is from inside of the city, looking out. It's surrounded by buildings and bridges.
Once I have the artwork, I'll divide it up into 3 frames and have it professionally printed and framed.

Problem is, those images aren't high enough resolution. That's my main problem. There's plenty of pictures of NYC, but none that are really suitable for blowing up to something that is 24" x 48" (x3)
I love the 3 bottom ones, but they aren't large enough.
Also, they don't need to be actual panoramas...If you look at the Alan Wake "original" image, it looks like the original was a standard aspect ratio. While the 3 frames give the panoramic effect, a panoramic image would actually end up getting cut off on the sides.

well, I see your problem. I opened up ps to see the required pixels (I tend to use 300ppi) and it gives me 7200x14400. You're looking for an image that's 21600x14400. IDK where you'd get that.
Standard is 200ppi and that's still 14400x9600 total.:gonk:

200DPI should be fine for large prints. You're probably going to need a panorama just to get the resolution you want.
e: See if there's a way to get a reasonable quality rip of a gigapixel photo http://www.gigapixel.com/galleries/vancouver-landscapes/
