i look forward to a followup from doom 3. Here's hoping I have enough cash to purchase when it comes out.

You missed the fact that they hid gameplay from live streamers. Basically, they stuck their middle finger to the fans who have been waiting to see gameplay of Doom 4. I'm sure a gameplay trailer will come out sometime soon, but what a crock of shit.

The showed "closed doors" gameplay to everyone (right? Everyone, I believe) at Quakecon, and did indeed stick their middle finger up to all the rest of the fans unable to attend. And everyone was easily able to tweet about it and everything that was happening, which is the stupidest fucking thing for a developer to do.

If someone can explain the reasoning behind "closed doors" showings that still allow viewers to publicly comment about, I would gladly hear it. Are they just unsure of the content they're showing and want to get a test reaction or something?

I think they were attempting a very risking manuever with their marketing. They want the fans to build up anticipation and excitement. But they did it completely wrong. Their has been reviews and posts about the gameplay details. Such as the marines putting on his helmet (looking like samus), and blowing demons to bits with the shotgun. I'm still gonna buy the game, but I lost respect for the developers.
