rip Douglas. He'll probably live. That or all of Red Team is kill.

I wonder if that "& Windows 10" part is going to be legitimate standalone Windows 10 release or if they included it because you could stream from your Xbox One.

afaik they can now cross-compile console games with the App-model. So...this might be a a windows app?

Can they reasonably do XBone-level encryption in w10? Or is that unlikely?

Here is the article in German and translated by Google:
https://translate.google.de/translate?sl=de&tl=en&js=y&prev=_t&hl=de&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.heise.de%2Fnewsticker%2Fmeldung %2FGDC-Europe-2015-Universelle-Spiele-fuer-Xbox-One-und-Windows-10-2767881.html&edit-text=&act=url

I must say I am a huge fan of the universal idea (I own a Windows Phone for this exact reason) but only for non-resource-intensive applications. I am just not sure how optimizable this cross-compiling idea is. On the other hand Minecraft was released as an x64 app and it runs much better than its Java counterpart.

wat? it's the same architecture. the only thing that would be different between a windows game and a xbone game is the entry point to the program because of the different operating systems. something something windows 10 is supposedly going to be driving the xbone ui later this year.

They can't.
