Alright, some will probably frown apon this, but I think (along with a lot of others) that there are some very good CE maps that should be put into H2V, now, what I'm wondering, is if there is a program that I can use (or a max script) that will let me open up the .jms or .max type file in 3DS Max 8 or 9 so that it can be exported out again with H2EK.
Nothing will be transfered by myself without permission from the original map makers, or unless source has already been released.
Ideas?

Jahrain made one that extracted it from the bsp tag I think. It defiantly extracted it from a halo tag. Its on halomaps.org btw

Actually, use this one:
http://hce.halomaps.org/index.cfm?pg=3&fid=2029
It has the UV thing fixed (no need for a script).

It's actually a little harder than just point and click, but the model is a good start. Good luck with the shaders... I think someone needs to make a video tutorial for simple map creation. I will make one in a little bit if need be.

I know it is, I've gone from modeling to ingame with CE maps.
Does anyone know if the exporter from max is the same? Could you PM me the exporter files if they are different please, I already Have a map that "should" work. As it works in CE.

I have an old build that exports the models directly from the .map (it works for protected maps btw). But it doesn't have all the advanced features of V2 and V2.5 such as bitmap conversions and portal exporting.

Portals aren't needed in Halo 2 anyway apparently..

That would be nice, I'm working on getting CamTrackArena into Halo 2. The source code that was released has a nice BSP, but apparently the custom bitmaps and shaders are going to be a problem, that and the fact that the source version of the BSP doesn't have bases...

My post is relevant to this topic. Could someone link this program to a host that is NOT Halomaps? I can't download from that site. Thanks in advance.

Yep thats it as far as I understand it too. It portals things by itself.
