Map: Snowtorn Cove
Author: Arteen and Schwinnz

Winter sets in the canyons near a wartorn cove.

Snowtorn Cove is the snow-themed variant of the Wartorn Cove series of maps. This map has numerous symmetric and asymmetric elements. Each side of the map is different. The red side features winding canyons through tunnels and over bridges. The blue side features a large, ice-covered bridge between wide cliffs. The center of the map features a frozen cove.

Changes from previous iterations of Wartorn Cove:
-The map is snow-themed, with ice, snow, frozen tunnels, and falling snow
-The cove is now frozen in ice, with patches of ice throughout the map
-The bridges and bases are remodeled to resemble structures in Assault on the Control Room, Sidewinder, and Ice Fields
-The exits to the teleporters are now placed in caves, raised above the ground to prevent easy access for campers; the caves have three exits: one to a raised platform in the center, one back behind the caves, and one exiting out towards the beach
-One snow Warthog at each base
-customized player biped
-modified weapon and scenery placement
~while in devmode, object_destroy 1-6 to remove barriers in front of tunnels

Excuse me if I come off as offensive, but is there any real difference besides this map being recycled with a snow setting? Once again, not trying to start something here.

Frozen ice in the center with patches of ice around the map
Teleporter exits are now in raised caves to prevent camping
Snowhog
The base designs are slightly different; The distance between the flag room and the room above it is less, so players can safely jump down; The bases aren't open on the front, but on the sides; The ramps to the upper floor of the bases aren't in the front of the base, but on the sides, with one in a tunnel and the other on a ramp along the cliff
Altered weapon and scenery layouts
Some æsthetic changes do have some impact on the gameplay, like the Sidewinder-esque steps to the center area; the ice and ice patches; the larger amount of room on the Shade platform on the red side
More ladders
No red side flag-through-tunnel exploit; no more sliding down the tree by the red side bridge near the center
Unlike in WTC4, the RHogs work and the GHogs are absent from the map
Unlike in WTC4, the portals actually work
It's so pretty it can distract your enemies?

The placement of the weapons and scenery has been changed from that of previous iterations of Wartorn Cove. The weapons themselves have not been modified. Sorry for any confusion.

P.S. If thats the only thing you found you need to look around more.I wouldn't quite call the things in the secret room a secret. They are blocked off, but not hidden. The sign is actually hidden.

Another big change over other versions of Wartorn Cove is that this one actually supports Race, and very well. The only other version that supports Race is the SVC version and that one doesn't do it as well.

An excellent version of Wartorn Cove and a great race map.

it's an awesome map that plays like a bungie original.

the one thing that annoys me is that it seems that nobody plays it. i saw alot of players prior to new years, but it seems to have gone :(

is it because the whole Christmas thing is gone? wtf? it's summer in Australia and every ausy player i talk to likes it.
GTFO it or GTFO of the community (and put it back on the servers on your way out)

If you look, there are a lot of really great maps that get ignored. Immure2 and Portent generated about a week's worth of interest before people went back to Blood Gulch and coldsnap

i wish the general population actually had some taste.. IF YOU WANA PLAY GULCH, THEN GO PLAY PC, YOU DON'T NEED CE.

and the reason maps like cold snap and such become so popular is because lots of servers host them. if we could get some big servers to only play a certain list that many respected members of the community have agreed are good maps, it would improve the game quite abit. (and hopefully, some new people will start playing the game and won't be all "Z0MG HOOJ AZ IS TEH ROX0RZ!!!ELEVEN111!!!)

I agree that there are many maps that just DON'T get the recognition that they deserve. This map is awesome, but there just aren't enough players for it. Oh well.

In any case, great job on this map! Maybe there's a server playing it currently. I can always dream. *Goes on HaloCE*

yes, i know about the halomaps server (since that's my homepage and all). the trouble is that hardly anyone plays on it because they don't want to get the maps to play 1 server (lazy bastards).
