Im gonna be getting h2v in about a month but i wanted to know something before i start to make my maps (I used to do maps for an mmorpg so i kinda have some ideas left over for h2) i wanted to know a couple of things.

I had this idea to make distructable buildings from h2.
Done thusly:

Create a general building -> chop up into little peices -> regester them all as vehicles that are destructable that cant have a driver, cant move, cant attack -> Import into the game and asemble them into the building that they should be.

Is any of this impossible?
i heard somewhere that one can no longer mod the weapons or the vehicles with the software that comes with h2v, is this true?

You can't do vehicles in H2V anyways so this is impossible unless the H2EK is unlocked.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Your idea pretty much works up until the importing part; the H2ek doesn't let us import any models, collision, physics, or animation data outside of a BSP. Also, you don't even need vehicles, as H2 syncs scenery damage. (Points at fusion cores)

Doesn't Halo 2 support destructible scenery in the first place?

Right but my idea involves importing models so i guess that its uselss even with destructable secenery.

ahh so bungie locked the apps for specific imports and mods?

i think its only a matter of time before someone figures out how to unlock them.

It's a matter of a long time.

If we ever get to the point of making vehicles, you'd only require one vehicle per building, not one for each piece. You've seen how vehicles fall apart when shot at, you'll just need to set up the building with multiple regions.

Or else do destructable scenery like someone else suggested...

Actually destructable buildings are possible. Just create a Geometry instance. Then piece it up, and make sure each one has a permutation.

Don't worry, destructable items are much easier in Halo 2!

I actually created a wall that would break and fall as the glass in Zanzibar would.

The glass in Zanzibar, as described in the Help files, is created through geometry instancing.
