It looks like overtime my fps on H2V has been gradualy degraging or somethin :/

For example the last games I have played my fps as dropped as low as 30 fps for the whole game.. but if i go into a closed off area or somethin it goes back up to 150

specs: e6600, 8800 gts oc2, 2gb ddr2

I run the vista performance score again and all the scores come back exactly the same :/ anybody have a clue whats goin on :confused2: :(

If this is in the campaign, this is expected. The multiplayer side of this should be better.

As stated many times somewhere in this forum, this game has been poorly optimized for the PC.

not necessarily ive got a pretty high end computer and i played through campaign 3 times with no fps drop below 60-100. But when i play turf my fps drop goes down to like 40-50 ish. its only that map and im not sure why. Also ive been playing on live and it feels like im god at the game but ive come to realise that everyone else is just having performance problems and their just easier to kill. Sure theres the occasional guy that actually has the game running smoothly and its a challenge to beat him. It all seems quite unfair for lesser computers to get owned on live by higher end users. This isn't meant to bash lower end computers cause i know all the equipment gets pricey. I'm just saying if your having fps problems then lower the video settings, its better to play good than to suffer the frustration of a faster player.

wtf, you have an 8800 GTS, 2 GB of ram and getting 30 fps on a nearly 3 year old game?

What the FUCK did they do to the damn port?

:fail:

yeh it would be funny if it wasn't so sad :eyesroll:

disabling AA and putting the settings on medium make the game playable now, but even then at times and on certain maps it gets a bit laggy

That's stupid, I have the same settings (lent one of my 8800s to a friend) and everything runs perfectly fine for me, no lag, no stutter, no nothing. And 40-50 FPS is perfectly playable...I find that turning UP AA/AF makes the game run smoother for me.

This game hasn't been poorly optimized, Halo 2 was already optimized. What they did was DE optimize it. That's what LODs and mipmaps are for.
