Valkryie H2

--------------

Ok this is a damn early beta. There are many bugs, glitches, unplaced things, bad UV's, bad shaders, bad textures,

bad lighting, ETC.

But it's a map! Play only slayer! Fun fun fun!

I was just playing this with a friend...It's probably too late for this, but I think the map's layout could use a lot of work. It just seems like a bunch of random hallways that dont make sense and have no purpose. It also kind of puts a limit of gameplay. Theres really only 3 rooms (smalls ones at that) with a ladder between them; not very interesting.

yey yey yey.

Fun fun fun, played it last night (my time) with Skyline and Syuusuke. Was pretty good, though Skyline took to putting boxes down holes and blocking the main ladder linking top and bottom. This made for interesting gameplay if you got frustratingly stuck in there. Surrounded by Boxes.

Good map, even for a 'rough' build as you say, it still looked amayonnaising. Or, one might say Inbreadable.

Haha.. leeeeyhme.

But yeah, everyone download this map NOW.

RAWR.

Also, dont know if its intented to be there or just H2's lacked support for ladders, but if you're looking down on a ladder you still climb up it. Also, The big main ladder, sometimes I would climb it perfectly and get to the top and it would kick me off (like it had a lip up there) and shoot me off the ladder down again. It got frustrating when I was being chased :(

Still, leet map cant wait for next build/full release

Please make the ladder texture the beaver creek ladder D: I really don't like this one. Other than that, the reading rainbow is hawt, and the shaders are really well made.

I'm replacing the ladder with a pole, a wooden one 3d modelled, for a realistic look (the one that goes down the cave). The top ladder will probably have a different ladder texture, but not the beavercreek one.

Does this mean no CE version? D:

Last that Sunny said, there will still be a CE version.

Well umm theres 3 things wrong, first off the layout is bad, there are tunnels ending for no reason, which may be good for slayer maps, but good maps should be fitted to be at least decent on all gametypes, while still focusing on one in particular. Second, The map is tiny, way too small for even 6 people. You should add mroe tunnels. Finally, like you said, the lighting needs some work. On one of the walls i swear i see some sort of rainbow. Hope you take these into consideration, because if these are fixed, this could be an awesome map!

The lighting is going to be completely changed into something crazy and dramatic. Once the lightmaps are done, beta 2!

All I've played on is a hallway with a hole that has 2 ladders you can go up, and a hole you have to crouch and jump to get through. Even for a beta, not much of a release. I'd suggest adding a layout or something. And, since there is actually nothing that is even remotely close to having any gameplay at all, I don't see how you could have fun on slayer, unless of course your idea of fun is rockets or no shields shotguns with 16 players. You could have atleast added some cover, bleh.

I've played quite a few games on (at least the CE version) this map, and all of them have outputted a pretty good amount of fun. More needs to be added, indeed, and things do have to be changed.

Lol, I use the boxes to block that one entrance to the top :). If you could get a gravity lift or something that will get the player up there faster then the ladder then that would be better then someone camping and keeping other players from going up.

http://img104.imageshack.us/img104/1705/00021copycy1cj1.jpgHow'd that skyline person get it to be in thirdperson?

I want a thirdperson for Halo 2 Vista, or atleast a camera like the one in Halo PC where you can move around while using the camera (The debug_camera_save and load functions)

Cool stuff man! looking good so far.
I really dig your lighting fx, with that spectrum. :XD:
The Zanzibar lights are always fun to bash around.
I think thats the first ladder for H2.
One thing i didn't like much... the hazard strip on the ceiling edge. It just seems out of place. Normally you'd see those on the floors and walls, but on the ceiling it just doesn't make sense. Just a thought. :)

keep it up man. I've always enjoyed your work, you've got your own style.

Hmm, on second thought I looked back at my level and you are right! Any suggestions on what to replace the ceiling strips with (color, etc?)

Thanks for asking. Maybe some sort of metal plating with screw holes and scratches. Or maybe some bronze or copper plating with a nice metallic shine. Dunno really... i don't want to step on your "creative shoes" so to speak. I dig the tan texture on the walls. maybe you could incorporate that design into the molding as well. I was also thinking you could possibly re-work the lighting to run along the top edge of the walls instead of the ceiling.

Just kickin' around some ideas! :p
