why is it doing this.... i have the original disc in the damn drive, and it installed fine on my bros pc.

i fixed it, just deleted a shitload of registry entries that had to do with the map editor.

I had the same problem. What I did was got the editing kit install folder from a friend, took my halo 2 disk and ripped all the files from it to my desktop (it says its legal to make backups in the eula). I then overwrote the editing kit install folder in the ripped files with the one i got from a friend. If you want ill send you the files over aim (pm me and ill give you my aim).
