Help with Map Editor controls

I know they are in the help file but those dont seem to work for me. Could someone outline the basics for me?

Well, if your talking about Sapien...

To move your camera around, hold down your middle mouse button (or push in your scroll wheel), to increase the camera speed scroll the mouse wheel up, to slow it down, scroll down. To move up and down use "R" and "F". To move forwards and backwards, as well as strafe left to right, use wasd.

ya see that isnt working for me... I tryed all the mouse controlls but the only one that works is the double click to zoom in one. The rest including the scroll to increase camra speed isnt working

Is your Xbox 360 Controller Plugged in? (if you have one) because that sometimes messes me up.
