Veterans Day (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veterans_Day)
Ok people, I know what you are thinking, I missed up and posted a potD as a new topic, but no, this is going to be apart of it, but this day is something that we must all remember, Veterans Day, on the 11th month, the 11th Day, and the 11th Hour, ok I know some of the members here don't know about it, but Veterans Day is a day set aside to honor all those who served honorably in the military, in wartime or peacetime and to thank them for their service to our country. All day of Saturday I'm going to have this Topic a Sticky, and when it comes 11:59 PM, my time, I'll remove the sticky, and Each time I post, I'll post the time that my Computer says it is in my Post, that way you know how much time is left, and I'll try to post something every hour.
Right now, I'll start with something that needs to be known,
-------------

The Unknowns
Yes that is right, The Unknowns (http://www.homeofheroes.com/gravesites/arlington/0_unknowns_blassie.html) Heroes that died in battle, the No Names, the People that no one knows who they are, where they're from, all they know is their age, hight, weight, and that they died to protact their country. All of the Unknowns lie at a place known as Arlington National Cemetery (http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images?p=Arlington+National+Cemetery&ei=UTF-8&fr=yfp-t-501&x=wrt), Place that People go and is very quite, where the Sentries Walk in very strate lines.
Click on the link (http://images.search.yahoo.com/search/images?p=Arlington+National+Cemetery+the+Unknowns&ei=UTF-8&fr=yfp-t-501&x=wrt) to look at some.
----------------
Now Rememder, post very nice things here, any posts that I find out of line, or disrespeactful to the War Vets, I'll most likely see to it that it is removed, or I'll let you know very nicely in a PM or by IMing you, leting you know that you need to fix it, I'll try to cach it as soon as it is posted.

We celebrate Veteran's Day in Canada too. And we wear poppy flowers to show spirit.

ya, and I did hear of what you guys call it, and it fits it, I grew up with it as Veteran's Day, and today in my US history, and US Gov class I learned some things about it, and I thought I might as well post a topic like this, and I did, as you can see,

I know what you are thinking, I missed up and posted a potD as a new topic, but no, this is going to be apart of it,

we don't have a PotD topic here yet, I don't think, I did this at TSL's Forums, and I asked Wip if he thought it would be a good idea to post one here, so I did.

I'll post a link to this one at the one at TSL.

We just had a 2 minute silence over here in England. Then there was a big "Lord Mayors Show" with some people from Kazakhstan.

We call it Rememberance Day here, though in Australia we usually have more ceremonies and such on Anzac Day (for all wars, not just WWI like the name would have you think).

/\ Same here in Canada. Probably because both countries are of British heritage.

We had a nice parade in our town with students from schools all over and the governor and stuff. There were bands and flag ceremonies and all kinds of good fun.

I'm going to lock this Topic down, it has done it's job, and you guys didn't help out as much as the people at TSL, but it dosen't mater, as long as we all remember the War Vets and what they did for us, that is all that counts, I may reopen this Topic next year, if I can.
