ok I HAVE VISTA AND A REAL COPY OF THE GAME. i am getting a advapi.dll message, any suggestions?

That has to be the most pointless question I've ever seen....but if it happens when you try to install, clean your disk. I had to toothpaste mine multiple times before it would install right (there were wierd circular scars all over it).

Download that library off the web and put it into the same folder or windows/system32...try that.

You didn't run it through the launcher. You only get that error on non-vista systems.
