Yes Yes, I know this will seem somewhat nooby, but the best way to learn is to ask, so here goes...
How do you create water in max/editing tools?
How do you create the "death zones" as I call the, (fall to your death areas)
And last, but not least. I have photoshop, but I am not that great at making textures. So can I get the textures from all the other multiplayer maps, or am I just on my own?

You can extract textures from H2 with the app that FireScythe just released in the other section. Other than that, it's not too hard, just follow some tutorials and learn photoshop.

FireScythe's application extracts editable .tiff files from .bitmap tags, so you'll need to have the .bitmap tag in the first place. Unfortunately, the editing kit didn't come with a whole lot, just some forerunner ones.
The tutorial doesn't cover water planes, and I'm pretty sure it doesn't cover death planes either.

correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't that tool extract the images from the tags folder only? What I am looking for is getting textures that are not there, but included in the game, located in the .map files and such.
Also, havent been able to find any tutorials for vista, did find quite a few for CE, but not sure if I can use those.
Ya, Conscar got what I was saying, need some help with that stuff because the tutorial only covers basics.

A tag extractor from map files hasnt been completed yet, so forerunner bitmaps are all your going to get for now.
As for death planes, halo 2 uses "kill volumes" which is a box you drag out in h2sapien that kills players that enter it.

It's actually a kill trigger volume that you place in sapien. Place is just the same as a normal trigger volume.

I have a couple of questions about texturing.
1. I need to know how to make the bitmaps.(I am using photoshop cs2 I have saved the files as a tiff. and try to use the bitmap creation tool. it dose put out a tag but when I check it in hguerilla is just black.
2 when I get that figured out how do you apply it then to your mesh?(do you have to add them to a shader first?) If not where do you to save the bitmap, so when you load it the material editor it will be found when you compile it,and what adjustments have to be made in hguerilla on the bitmap.
Sorry for the noob questions. I have watched tutorials on making bitmap for ce but I just get lost when it comes to h2vista.
And as far as making textures bryant21 go to http://www.alienskin.com/ these are plugins for photoshop a complete noob can make good textures with these.
