To kick off my new site\host that I got using H2Vista.net's promo code (http://www.h2vista.net/forums/showthread.php?t=3829) also to give you something to chew on for you Independence day modding joy I present to you bitmaps!
There are two archives (RAR). Neither of them have bitmaps which come with the release HEK, they're all right from Single Player or Multiplayer. I seperated them because having a single archive would have been fucking huge and I know not EVERY person will download both so I thought I might as well save some of my 3 Tera bytes of bandwidth for the month of July for some other things.
NOTE: I'm too tired to stay up and watch the little progress bar get bigger. MP is done uploading, but don't start downloading SP until 11:05pm EST

Now there are a couple things to note:
I removed the mapshot bitmaps because I really didn't see their use to any of you and I removed all the lightmap bitmaps because that shaved off 50%+ of the total uncompressed bytes. I was doing both you and I a favor there, you're welcome.
Hope your 4th is going better than mine did (although it did have some highlights). Also, click on some of the googl-ad links down at the bottom of the page a few hundred times to show your support for h2v.net. That or sign up with dreamhost with h2v's promo code. Thats an order ~:mad:>

And shut up about the damn shaders. At least HG was able to provide you guys with 99.5% of all the shader templates and shader passes. How about you guys actually experiment with the shaders :|

Is there a shader development thread? If not, maybe we should make one. I would gladly help out where I can.

I'm sure the people would welcome that bum. Currently the only things I know that are in high demand are water related shaders. Probably some others would like to know about environment related stuff but thats as far as we can get currently with the editing kit ;x.

EDIT a heads up, looks like alot of these bitmaps have the UNUSED flag checked, took me a few hours to realize that was why my textures were black

D: I can view them in guerilla, but any shader I use the bitmap in turns black. Great release, I guess I will just have to extract the ones I want to use and re compile them or something. This might only be my problem though >_>.

Tool exceptions for me when its compiling the bitmaps into the map for some reason. Some bitmaps compile fine but some don't and I have to remove them from the shader.

I donno, and I'm not to sure. But for some reason, I think tool skips certain tags with the unused flag checked, which makes them cause problems if they are referenced to, but not in the shared.map and show up black ingame. This is kinda random, as it doesn't seem to be true for all tags.

1st, Thanks for Kornman00 for creating this bitmap pack. That must have been a lot of work, and I certainly appreciate it.
Now, what do I do with them??
lol, sad but true. So are these bitmap files 'required' in a certain location, or are these extra nice things for you experts to play with? Maybe extracting these to my drive would correct the 2pages of 'could not find' errors when I do the lightmaps. I was able to get a playable map out in the CE world (xf01), but this new editing kit is very foreign to me right now.
Thanks again, and any other info would be appreciated.

For whatever fucking reason you can't browse or even try to download RAR files off my server (but I can get them via FTP). just added ".rename" to the file extension and they're downloadable again

As long as people keep playing the games and are actually putting effort into new creations, I'll probably be around. I won't leave a community in the dust nor throw an arbitrary number (eg, 1,000) of active players needed before I do anything else then fail to meet my end of the deal.
It won't ever be constant day-to-day support, but it'll be more support than you've ever got from other companies when it comes to a community and content.

It's the same site. H2Vista.net was back when this site was dedicated to that game when it launched. Then we all found out how shitty it was and tried to broaden our horizons a bit with other games and such, but now we're basically back to a Halo Custom Edition related community and content site.
