Well, for a bit now I've kinda been tired of my good ol' 6200. I want to move to something that is better than that and can run Halo (2V) at 1024x768 at about 30-60 FPS.
I was looking at an ATI Radeon X1300 Pro / 256MB GDDR2 / AGP 8x / DVI / VGA / TV Out / Video Card for 109.00
Now, after I'm done with something I'm going to ask my brother wether I'm PCI-(E) AGP or SLI.
I need to cap it at about 120 dollars TOPS. This includes shipping.
Thanks in advance.

Yeah, you are definitely SLI. :downs:
And the x1300 pro is almost a down grade from a 6200, but whatever.

The x1300 is not better than the x700, it will hardly play h2v.
EDIT: XFX 7600GT (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150233) would probably be your best bet with AGP. Yes, I know its $124.99, but its got a $30 mail-in rebate.
For PCI-E(if you have it) would be $114.99($99.99 MIR) eVGA GeForce 8600GT (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130085) or $124.99(104.99 MIR) eVGA GeForce 7900GS (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130056)

Get a Nvidia Geforce 7600 or an ATI Radeon X1600 - you can find those for $150 tops ($100-$120 is more common).

Wait, the 8600 costs less than the 7900? Wow.

I'm pretty sure the 7900 is a little bit better, but the 8600 is DX10 and will still run H2V fine.

My brother has H2V, he has it, but he has failed to give me it yet. Plus, after what I have heard about H2V, I really think I'm staying with CE.
Also, on the side, does anybody know of a .dds to .tif converter?

I'm sure Google does...

Yeah, I've tried about 16 of them and they all didn't work and you get to about pg 3 and it gets way off the subject.
BTW:
Yeah, you are definitely SLI. :downs:

Just asked my brother, who is the one that built my comp. He said I am AGP.

When it comes to DX9c (shader 3.0) performance, the 7900 owns the 8600. However, the 8600 supports DX10 while the 7900 doesn't even have it, so on games with DX10 features, the 8600 will LOOK better (but not necessarily PERFORM better).

But H2V isn't DX10.

Oh right, he just wants to play H2V.
In that case, the powerful DX9c AGP cards are his best bet.

Will an X1650 work at newegg?
This one? (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814102085)

x1650 is just a x1300XT with a new name and faster memory. :eng101:
It will work though.

Well, after talking to my computer genius *brother* he said he is not going to support Canadian Crap *SMACK BROTHER* called ATI *SMACK BROTHER* which is now called AMD *SMACK ME* so I'm looking for the equivalent of the X1650 at newegg that is nVidia.

7600GS should be fine. Dunno why you were looking at the x1650 in the first place though. http://www.h2vista.net/innergoat/stuff/dr/emot/hsugh.gif

Well, would the x1650 run Halo CE at 1024x768 at stable 30FPS and occasionally 60 FPS?

Uh, yeah. :-3

It'll run it closer to 100fps than 30...you'll be unlucky if you get 30.

Well, I've come to the conclusion. I am ordering the X1650 from newegg.
Any last minute thoughts for me to cancel it? Something that is the same price or lower, but is better?
