Anyone else having this problem? Here and there when Im playing H2v the game will completely lock up and the monitor will lose the signal and go to sleep. From there I have to restart. It seems to like to do this in a group of freezings. I can play for hours sometimes and everything will be perfect. Then other times it will lock up, Ill restart, it'll lock up again after a couple mins, ill restart and so on. Does this sound like a hardware or software problem? Is anyone else experiencing this? Ive only seen it happen in game and not when Im in the UI. I just bought a new computer with specs being:
Asus P5N-e SLI mobo
evga 8600gt (latest drivers from nvidia website)
2gb of 6400 PQI
C2D 6420 running at stock speeds with stock cooling
Antec 900 case with fans maxed
Antec truepower 650w psu

Im not running SLI and the hard drive was reformatted very very recently. Also, this doesnt occur in any other game or at any other time Im using the computer.

I get a similar problem RARELY. My screen will loose the signal but then come up to BSOD. This happens when playing graphically intensive games.
More frequently though when I'm playing H2V, the screen will go black (but still recieving a signal), and will crash unless I minimize the game (only through C.A.D.-->task manager is this possible) quickly after this happens.
In both of these cases, something is getting too hot as has decided to shut down. I'm guessing it's my graphics card, because I always get the popup that my display drivers were not responding. The graphics card probably disabled them to cool it down. Once I open up my case and point a table fan in it, everything works just fine.

Mine kinda does that every like so often the screen will go black for like a second then come back onto the game, i dont know what causes it

When mine locks up c.a.d doesnt respond. Also if I have mp3s playing in the backgroun they will continue to play why the game is frozen for a few secs then the screen goes black and everything quits responding. From there I hit the power button on the case.
Next time Ill leave it on and see if a blue screen pops up.
Oh and I have seen the 'windows has disabled graphics drivers' once before but I dont think it was in conjuction with the computer locking up.

this has never happened to me, but if I want to be able to switch windows easily without it freezing I run it in windowed mode (u can run it in command prompt as halo2 -windowed or i think theres an option in game). It also seems to take less of a hit to my performance.
specs (laptop-
toshiba qosmio
G30): 2ghz intel duo core
NVIDIA Geforce 7600
2gb memory
screen supports up to 1900x1200 (i cant play it in high framerates though)
base score: 4.5 which is gaming graphics (gaming graphics
were at 4.8 and my memory was at 4.5 but when i retested it recently my memory went up to 5.1 and my gaming graphics dropped)

The same thing happens to me with hv. I play oblivion and never have this problem. It may be a problem with the game I think it pushes the hardware harder then it should it may be a driver thing with nvidia. I have a 8800gtx and I have been under clocking it when I play this game and it runs fine. I would say it is a heat or power problem but like I said this is the only game that has the problem. I even play the lost planet demo and I don't have this problem.
