Video Card Questions

I have an integrated video chipset NVIDIA 6150 (128mb).
My H2V is running slowly most probably because of resolution problems.
I have 3gb of ram, and the processor is surely not slow.
Is that video card too sucky?????

Just because your video chip is a tiny bit above the requirement, doesn't mean it will run H2V well. Those are the minimum requirements, and that is a pretty shitty video chip. I recommend you upgrade.

Ya you probably won't even be able to run it decently on 800x600 on lowest settings with no AA.

that's your problem right. Integrated video cards are worthless for playing most games produced after 2004.

Run in 640x480, you'll get a better framerate than 800x600 obviosuly.

get a dx 10 card (crysis is later this year) and h2v will look better with dx10 (even though it's a dx9 based game)

yep, you have to get a better card than that. At least a 100 dollar card will run it medium. My 90 dollar x800gto runs it a good framerates at 1024x768 and medium graphics with 4xaa. It runs about 40 or 50ish fps. Pretty good for a 2 year old card eh?

Too bad I can only get the X1300 Pro to run on 800x600 at medium..

You do need a new graphics card. I upgraded from that one and I can now actually play the game.

As someone said above me, anything integrated cannot really run any games made after 2004 with decent framerates.

Wrong! H2V will not look better with a card that supports DX10.

I had a 7800gt but i was getting low frames, and in games with 12+ people it got un playable, so I bought a 8600 GT yesterday, still waiting for that to come.

No need to be running at high settings on a game like H2V. On low, it looks as good as the Xbox version. On high, it doesn't look much better and those minimal visual improvements will bring about a huge impact on the framerate.

I'm running at 1680x1050 on low settings and I get over 50 fps. If I switch to high and maintain that resolution, I get single digit frames. And this comes from a Nvidia Geforce 7600 GT...just shows how shitty the technical part of the game is.

Yes, upgrade. Integrated video is not a gaming solution.

I've got an Xfx 8500gt 256mb of ddr2. I run h2v at 1024x768 with aa set to highest and detail at med because its no diffrent from high. In mp is fine but in sp I have to turn off aa in big fights. Integrated cards arent the way to go there slow and get their memory from your ram

I play H2V with a 6150, and I find it very playable. Sure, you won't find it blowing your mind as to how wonderful it plays, and you'll have to realize that you'll get about 15 FPS very rarely. I can live with that, and I'm just fine. The 6150 plays HaloCE quite nicely, if you want something that runs a little faster.

dude no he wasent the 8800 series kicks ass! i have it, have it at max res, 26" LCD with 2560x1600 HD with 8xAA and 60+fps all the way thro(until we blow up 23 warthogs at once then it drops to 23 smooth)

The 8600GT is not better than 7800GT in terms of DX9 performance.

To answer your question Bleach, yes it's good but not great. The 640MB version is a better buy as Atty says. I'm not exactly sure why you would need 2 GeForce 8800 Ultras that's just overkill. How do you cool those things at full load? Wait is there even full load for those monsters?

The only use for more memory is higher fps on high resolution settings and high AA settings.

EDIT: Wait I misread that, what exactly are the 8800 Ultras? They have better technology I assume.

Guy's, 26" is actually the width of their monitor, and 30" is the diagonal. Hope that clears somethings up.

Well yes, you said you have SLI'ed 8800GTXs but you also said you had two 8600GT's that were not in SLI. What do you do when you want to use a 8600GT? You must take out one 8800GTX and pop in the 8600GT assuming you don't use the SLI bridge.
