Who else has played this?

For those who haven't, Minerva is an episodic HL2 single-player mod and arguably the best I've seen for any game. The level design is astonishing, and is on par with - if not better than - that of Valve. The atmosphere is similar to that of the early Citadel sections of HL2 and Halo on a first run; the mod is incredibly creepy and tense, yet it doesn't resort to hurling monsters at you from the shadows. It's quiet (abnormally so, it's fucking terrifying) enough to explore freely, but there's enough action to keep you on your toes. What really drives the gameplay, though, is the mystery of what lies behind that big alloy door...

Never played it before, the description websites gave wasnt enough for me to get over there being no new weapons to play with (that I saw). Might have to try it, now.

PC Gamer reviewed it once. It looked good, but I can't say Single-player games really interest me.

Edit:

Hah, beat you to posting, rossmum.

It doesn't need new weapons, it adds in a whole new dimension to the HL2 universe.

Kept me zombified for a good 3 hours tonight, played it through for the third time... hope the next ep releases soon D:

Its very good. Sometimes I play it when I have the urge to play Half Life 2 but don't feel like playing it or Episode one all the away through. Adam Foster did great work on it and Minerva should be the standard for all single player Half Life 2 mods.
Foster says he'll have an update soon, and he also got to test Valves latest unreleased games a few weeks ago.

I read that they tested Minerva, too; good news for us, because that means it'll be even more awesome when it's released.

The atmosphere, the mapping, the concept... the whole thing is stunning and original as far as HL2 mods go.

Meh, it's just that I hated HL2's weapons... all of them. They're all so bland and boring, and mostly just copies of HL1 weapons.

Just ignore that and pay attention to the rest, gosh :p

I know, I know. And I did enjoy the rest of Half Life 2, and will probably enjoy this when I get my PC back, I just though they could have done something cooler for a game that got so many awards. The gravity gun was allright but it didn't do anything they couldn't have done with the existing grab items function.

The Overwatch Standard Issue is way better than any one of the original Half-Life weapons.

As far as the mod goes, I've had it for about a year and a half now. Great mod. I really want to play the next installment, so I hope it comes out soon.

Another one you guys should check out is Causality Effect. It has different endings, depending on who you kill or let escape.
