View Full Version : ATTN MEMBERS: Language?

With the forum cleanup reaching its peak, I'd like to see what the primary language of each community member is; so far, I am only aware of the majority English speakers and a couple of Frenchies.

Please vote in the included poll, and PLEASE VOTE FOR THE LANGUAGE YOU ARE MOST COMFORTABLE SPEAKING IN SO ACCURACY IS KEPT. This will let us know if we should install some other language packs.

Also, if language packs are to be installed, the primary language in here will remain English, meaning all posts should be typed so. This would just make the interface more user-friendly.

EDIT:

IF YOU ARE EQUALLY BILINGUAL, DO NOT SELECT OTHER. Just pick a language. Other is supposed to be reserved for if any users who speak a language not listed; Polish, Chinese, Japanese, etc etc.

I like Deutsch, it is my native language and I use it to speak with my mommy :)

English is allright, German seems more comfortable though.

I don't like English. A couple of hundred years ago some idiots claiming to be linguists decided to base official English grammar off of Latin, even though English is not suited for that sort of structure at all. The result is we have the most annoying and ambiguous mishmash of grammar ever. That is the sort of nonsense up with which I will not put.

I like programming languages. It doesn't get less ambiguous than that.

English and Mandarin. I'm trying to "pick up" Cantonese but all I know are the profanities :|

Right now I'm learning French (finished 3rd year, will move on to 4th year after summer). I had one year of Spanish in 7th grade (Bathroom was in my class and I tormented him :P) and I would still be learning Spanish right now if I had stayed on in the States.

I'm moving on to French IV this year once school starts up again. I'm teaching myself a little Russian, and I can pick up bits and pieces of German. Same goes for Spanish, since there are a lot of similarities between French and Spanish.

I feel stupid only knowing a single language fluently...:downsgun:.

Don't forget British/Canadian English in the language packs. I will cry if it tells me that "colour" is spelled wrong.

Warsaw
July 14th, 2007, 01:41 AM
I typically spell it that way too, but I don't on here because I correct anything with a red line under it and it is too much work to type it, and then go back and delete a letter.
