I recently purchased Lightwave 9 and was wondering if it was possible to use it with the new hek. Or do I need 3Ds Max like with Halo ce?
Thanks,

Edit: OMG ignore the z i put in the title.

I've used both and I like Lightwave 9 better actually, not that I'd say no if you offered me 3Ds Max free. Took a while to go from 3Ds Max's interface to Lightwave's but one you get used to it it's a lot easier. The only thing I like more about 3Ds Max is you can UVW wrap a lot easier (In Lightwave 9 you make the UVW wrap using a metaform in the modeler), but Max isn't nice enough to make me resort to stealing when I can actually afford Lightwave since it's around 200$.
Maybe Prom will actually be released, Nick hinted that it might be able to import standard file types and then let you add shaders for the ladders, and what not.

Last time I checked, a perpetual liscence for Max9 was about $430 with a student discount.

The file format we are currently implementing for models does have an official plug-in for Lightwave, so you should be able to export directly to the format Prometheus reads.

$389 (http://www.academicsuperstore.com/market/marketdisp.html?PartNo=761701)
And you get Combustion and Cleaner as well.
I think your best bet is to export your model to a .3ds and send it to someone with a working exporter and have them do the exporting for you. Someone Trustworthy.

400$ is too much. I'll just wait for Nick and Prom. If it gets released :p.
