Have a look at this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dragon_skin_armor#Army_Testing_Controversy_and_Com parison_with_Interceptor_body_armor).

Apparently, the US Army has their own, cheaper program for developing a new body armor for the soldiers to use. They don't want competition, so they've reportedly been misreporting test results, claiming that extra rounds got through the Dragon Skin armor. Personally, I think this is just sickening. Once again, it all comes down to money. Total bullshit.

Well, the army fucking fails. Marine Corps for the win.

I saw a special on the Dragon skin armor on mail call. The only way it would fail is if it was indeed tampered with.

They didn't literally go out and tamper with the armor itself, they misreported test results.

Hell yeah! I wish I could rep you again, D:

Also, wtf? The Army is starting to get lower and lower in my opinion.

My mistake. However something should be done about this. Any officer in the military should agree this is bullshit.

This stuff is basically scale mail, which has been around for thousands of years. Whoop-de-doo.

And that makes it flexible. It's been proven more effective at stopping rounds than the current armor, so it should be fielded immediately. The Army doesn't want that, though. They think it's too expensive compared to their armor, so they sabotage its records.

In my opinion this entire planet has gone down the drain.

So many freaking problems and every single one of them goes right to money and fucked up politics.

Of course, defence contracts always go to the lowest bidder regardless of quality. It's just the way the world works now. Politicians aren't in the [literal] firing line, so they couldn't care less.

Take a look around.

Overall that is pretty disgusting, but I can't say it came as a surprise. This sort of thing has been happening for a long, long time. It's definitely nothing new.

I've seen Dragon Skin Armor being shot at. There is no way it fails. Yeah, it's more expensive, but training new soldiers costs more.
