And no peeking at the file name.
So, what do you think?

Looking good, I bought my 5400+ for 172.00 ;_;. Though I'd cancel the order on the card and go with an eVGA 8800 :/ just my personal preference, and they offer lots of stuff.

Cancel the order and go eVGA and Core 2 with their price cut, anything else is stupid.

Hopefully you're getting a real monitor too, because 1024x768 isin't enough to put an 8600 under stress even.

Seriously, why? :raise:

Because you like sticking sharp kitchen utencils into pussy's, dur.
Also, it looks like he's trying to stay within a certain price range. If he was going to get a core 2 duo he would need another motherboard :\
EDIt: well he could get and 8800 gts 640 then a new mobo + cpu

Do you honestly think that I'm the only one who uses alt codes on the internet? Games are full of them.

Yes, I'll be getting a 17 or 19 inch.
I want to be able to max out all settings w/ FSAA.
Nice comp. I expect to see performance.
I am so sick of my current computer. 128 Mb 6800 = piece of crap. Plus, the case loooks like when when oog the cave man tok a crap.

Uh, what you consider a goodname is entirely subjective. I think that it makes names look cooler. But you may not, that's at your discretion.

Srsly your CPU holds back your GPU by a million. go get a intel quad core, or a C2E.

Good specs, just get a better CPU to accompany that awesome video card.
geez guys stop picking on his username, it's not very nice. Just nickname him "50" or something if you want to talk to him. While I think his username is a little on the ridiculous side, it's my opinion, and if he thinks it's cool, let him be. Be glad that his posts are not written like his username.

Oh I dunno, they aren't much of an improvement from what I've seen looking through the CE section today.

Try to stay on topic, Berkut. And yes, after looking at your CPU/GPU hardware, you might want to go a tad bit further up the scale. If you want to get the most out of your system, too, then get 4 gigs of ram with a 64 bit system. Most performance and stability on a 64 bit system rely on 4 gigs of memory. That way, you'll have tons of room to play in games, and your machine will litterally be kick ass.

But will it run well at decent settings? How much are we talking?

^ Well, let's put it this way. I have a 24" 1920x1200, and my 7900 can just barely run HL2 Ep 1 at full resolution with settings maxed out with a pretty steady 50fps. An 8800GTX can handle current games fine, but my guess is for games like Crysis the framerate may drop at full resolution. I say if you can afford it, get a 24 inch, because I loves mine, and I can deal with running games at a slightly stretched 1600x1200 to get everything else maxed out, while having a giant desktop =)
And I'm ok with calling you 50 from now on, how's that?
legionaire45
July 24th, 2007, 06:13 PM
I can play all my games with close to everything maxed fine on my 20.1" wide screen monitor (native resolution of 1680 x 1050). Oblivion is the exception, I have to turn it down to 1360 x 720 to keep it playable, but I have everything on/maxed except for AA and shadowing on Grass as well as a bunch of tweeks that make it eat up most of my ram. I still haven't hit 100% ram usage yet. In source based games I can have everything maxed and it will never drop below 60 fps, however if I up my AA from 2X to 4X it begins to lag like hell.
I'm using a Core 2 Duo E6300 @ 2.2 ghz, 4 gigs of DDR2 785 (due to my overclock, the ram can't take DDR2 942 without laxing the timings by a lot. It normally it at 800) @ 5-5-5-12 timings, a factory overclocked 7600 GT (600/1600) and a few other things. I'm using Vista Ultimate x64.
And yes, for your sake you want to go C2D.

Neo, when you get your new computer, you should protect it with some 64 bit passwords like

There is nothing wrong with AMD. The 6000+ does not bottleneck the 8800 GTX. Go buy it and find out for yourself.
Oh, I dont like the carpet :P

Wow. You clearly don't know what you're talking about. The E6600 stock bottleneck's the 8800, and its better than the 6000+. Infact I think my QX6800 might bottleneck the 8800's I have. And the QX6800 is 10x better than the 6000+ will ever be.

Yeah the QX6800 bottlenecks the 8800GTX some-what. Scary to think about the 9800 if the QX6800 is bottled by the 8800.

Thats easy.
You don't know if its bottlenecking. :D
Warsaw
July 27th, 2007, 12:14 PM
If a game is running smooth, why do you even care if it is bottlenecking? At that point you are just wasting time trying to open it up for those extra 20frames to add on to your already ridiculous 100+ frames per second.
