Im not sure but i think i might have found a way to reduce the lag you get in halo2 vista by quite a considerible amount.
goto settings/video and click the safe area check box and hit apply.
according to the description it is for widescreen monitors and TV's but when i checked the box i noticed i could play h2v on high setting with resolution of 800x600 with my 2ghz single core cpu and radeon 9600 video card.
anyone else tested this?

Wow. All safe area is for is when your on a large tv, and about 6ft away from it, it changes it so its like H2X's HUD. Just so you don't have to look all the way to the edge of the screen for ammo or health.

Well for some reason im managing to get upto 45FPS on my computer which prior couldnt even hit 21FPS.
that is the only thing that ive changed that could be the cause.

Care to make a suggestion what could cause this then because i am quite curious as to how my framerate nearly doubled.

Its just you, as it doesn't do anything different for me. Your rig might be messed up, tbh.
