Still, if you had saved up a little more (assuming you paid in US dollars) you could've gotten an Athlon processor from newegg. To put it in perspective, Sempron is to Athlon as Celeron is to Pentium. But it's still faster than the 1.5Ghz P4, so not too bad of a choice.

Now all you need to do is buy a few new games.

Slight problem. My PC runs awesomely, but it wasn't booting into XP when I started it... I reinstalled XP, and it works now, but I've lost all my settings, all my favourites, my shortcuts, my start menu shortcuts...

I don't feel like reinstalling every program I have on here, and I also don't feel like browsing through my PC to start stuff like Steam... is there any idiot-proof way to just re-apply the lot? I don't know if my restore points would work anymore...

same thing happened to me--only i lost a lot of models as well. next time you just gotta save everything you absolutely need to something before reformatting.

Favourites I can replace, mostly... but unless I can find a way around it, I'll have to reinstall every single program I have, which I am not looking forwards to.

You can right click stuff and say "pin to start menu". You can also create your own desktop shortcuts through the right click menu as well. Unless I'm missing something.

I can't see any 'pin to start menu' option... I know how to create shortcuts, but I never use them. I use the start menu instead.

Should be right there under "open" in the right click menu. Only works for programs, as far as I know.

Yes. I wish I could take a screenshot, but Windoze doesn't have a built-in capture-anything tool like OSX does, and that annoys me. I want to just press print screen and have it save an image to my desktop. Why not?

Not yet, since I only just got it installed last night and I've been busy reinstalling drivers and such as well as testing it out.

Screw it, I have to reinstall a lot of programs anyway - some of them aren't working at all.

Didn't check, but it seems to be consistently over 30. Probably more like 60 in most of my games.

Was mucking around with start menu settings when I discovered it still had all my settings listed under another (unusable) account, so I just c&p'd the lot.
