Getting a new computer

Okay, so a bunch of rad games work on XP, but not on Vista.
A bunch of awesome games work on Vista, but not XP.
My question is, for my new computer that I'll be getting sooner or later, what should I get?
Or should I try running both?

Hm...

Don't take my word for it, as I'm not a computer hardware expert yet, but I have a similar configuration of parts from Newegg.com that comes out to about $800. (minus a DVD Drive, perphiperals, and cooling) For twice the price, you get a little less than what you could get normally.

My point is, maybe you should think about building a computer. You could save a lot of money.


And also, you'd be surprised on what works for Vista.

Everything I've thrown at XP over the years has worked with Vista either straight off the bat or with a little tweaking, nothing the average user can't accomplish.

You are also an idiot for buying an E6320 PC for about 1.5k, I payed 1.7k for my PC almost a year ago and it's an E6600, 2GB DDR2 800, 1TB of HD Space, X-Fi Plat., and the best (at the time) Overclocking board available. As well another high end components (such as the 8800GTS, which was purchased after the PC.)

If you are going to buy a PC, especially on a budget, there is no use in buying it pre-built. Even the most retarded of Internet users have built their PCs without problem so I doubt any of you (with the exception of maybe 1 or 2) will have any problem with it.

Bottom line here is, Build your PC and get Vista.

Thanks guys, putting the cost together, it'll be about $875; with an extra hard drive, which I'm thinking about adding, it's approx. $965.
Now then, I need to know what edition of Vista I'm getting...

See? You just saved $700 dollars. And I suggest getting home premium. Ultimate is too much, basic barely has anything.

Post your system specs here for us to tell you if everything is good or not. You don't want to buy your components without someone checking them out first, even the most experienced can let something pass because of enthusiasm or just accident.

As for what version, get Home Premium or Ultimate. Home Premium is fine, I use it.

Well, I copied all of the parts for Ganon's list;
Mainly because I thought it would make a good enough machine. Plus I had no idea what I was doing at first.
Except for the Case, for that I just got a Blue ATX Mid-Tower, Clear Sided, however, it has 4 5.25" Drive Bays, 2 external 3.5", and 4 internal 3.5".
And I MIGHT add a 120mm fan.
