You don't need a new model, It's Bungies Halo 1 AR's uv's. Just apply the bitmaps through whatever to the halo 1 AR model.

I don't have any pics of it though, just recently reinstalled CE, don't have any old betas with this one in it. We use the new one now, so we thought it was ok to release this one thats not going to be used.

Oh, no I meant like....from the multiplayer maps released earlier this year. Though, this is actually slightly better than the one in them, I kinda redid some stuff on it.

Cards are used for the lowest LOD of the 3p model. Basicly, it's a card that looks like the model.

Actually, it's good. No sense processing polygon and their textures when they're too small to tell the difference anyway.

I'm having a problem converting these to .bitmaps. They should just convert in tool if I type
tool bitmap weapons/assault rifle/bitmaps/filename, assuming that they're in that directory, right? BECAUSE IT AIN'T DOIN' SHIT

If your file directory has spaces in it, then you need quotes around whole thing. Also, no filename. Just bitmaps.
So it'd look like this exactly:
tool bitmaps "weapons\assault rifle\bitmaps"

I changed them to .jpg, then changed them to .dds files, and now they work in Halo PC yay!

I changed them to .jpg, then changed them to .dds files, and now they work in Halo PC yay!
Oooh can you upload those since I tried doing that and ended up having to reinstall my Halo. Me = Suckage at Halo PC modding.

It works like a charm!
I cant make any screenshots cause my Halo PC is fucked up, a lot of textures are missing, AND I tried reinstalling 3 times but those same textures are missing. Like the metal bullet holes, the ice bullet holes, the dirt spray when u shoot it with a gun, and stuff. I don't know how to fix it, can anyone show me how to fix it, or send me those textures?

Muki, your .tifs need to go in a data\ directory, not tags\.

And I still fuck it up :downs:. I just reinstalled cause my AR now looks like a Gray and Purple mess and reinjecting the originals didn't help. I think I'm going to give up while I'm still behind.

Yeah, it conflicts with the other AR texture... I think it's because you chose to update the size... You have to replace your bitmaps.map now lol.

the bitmap is 1024x1024. downsize it to 512x512. Btw, use the multipurpose it comes with, not restored shaders pack(they be fugly on the AR).

the bitmap is 1024x1024. downsize it to 512x512. Btw, use the multipurpose it comes with, not restored shaders pack(they be fugly on the AR).
When I injected it into halo PC I just updated the size of the bitmaps in Halo map tools. You know, copying the numbers over and hitting the + button on the right, all that crap. Worked fine for me :/

Well I tried downgrading the size to 512. Still fucks up :] (Just freezes at the MS logo)
Might of messed up the DDS do I just use the default settings the PS plugin comes with or what?

... unless you do that, but then you run the risk of having an absolutely fucking massive bitmaps.map file. You know what I'm talking about dane ;)

You have to use an unmodded bitmaps.map.

Right. Here's a list of how to do it. As Shadow says, you will need to have working HMT, so you need to fix that problem before you do this (check that you have .net framework 1.1 as this is the most common problem). Also, what do you mean by "I can't find my folders"? What folders? Anyway, here's how to do it, for those who don't know.
1) Download and unzip the two .tif files
2) Open the bitmap in GIMP (http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/stable.html) or PS if you have it.
3) Resize the textures so they are 512x512.
4) (only applies if you are using GIMP at this stage) Save the new 512x512 textures.
5) (only applies if you are using GIMP at this stage) Use this program (http://www.mnwright.btinternet.co.uk/download/dxtbmpx.EXE)to convert the image to a .dds file. To do this, simply open it and then go save as .dds. In the dropdown menu select dds DXT1. Save it as a dds. I think PS can save .dds anyway. I didn't/don't use it so I don't know.
6) (only applies if you use PS) Save as a .dds DXT1
7) Open the map in HMT and go to bitmaps\weapons\assault rifle\fp\bitmaps\
8) The textures you want to replace are: assault rifle multipurpose and assault rifle_fp. You should then go "inject texture" and inject the relevant .dds
9) Close HMT and play halo. You're done.

For step 2 - 6 here is an easier version: Open the .tiffs in Paint and save them as a 24bit Bitmaps then get DXTBmp and open the bitmaps. Go to file and convert then click DDS Texture. Then just save it and you've got DXT1 textures without needing to get photoshop or something else you need to pay for as DXTbmp is free and converts to every kind of DDS texture.

Hmmm. Everything seems to be fine, but the effects don't seem to be taking in. It now has 32 round clip and everything, but the effects aside from that are almost non-existent. The only diffuse bitmap I could find was a gun metal one. Is that the right one?

Wow. I loved this skin since I saw it in CE, now that you released the textures it just made my day. It also goes really well with my current marine skin. I can't belive people had problems with this skin. lol
