It will be my 16th birthday on Thursday and it's been 4 years since i have gave my parents a birthday list. I have never really wanted anything, I'm easy to please. Usually they take me out to eat or allow me to get some kind of food that i would not normally get.
(Yes, i have certain limits to my eating, heath wise. So its a big deal to me :D)
But this year they said that they would really want some kind of list to work with. At first i thought it was a joke, so i said a Xbox 360. They said maybe. I was shocked...i said fine I'm kidding.
Well I'm stuck all in all. I am going to be working outside more and more as much as i can.
So far i do need:
-A new Utility Knife, some blades.
-Axe and Knife Sharpener
-Single Blade Knife

Just some images that i was going to print out with the description. I'm trying to keep the $ low. Maybe you fellaws have some other ideas that maybe i could use inside.
Any ideas?
Many thanks, quite a odd question i know, but i am stumped D:

In all honesty though, I'd suggest a knife similar to the first two, or maybe something like the following.

Utilities would be a more accurate term.

Seems reasonable to me :confused2:.

Oh i love swiss army knifes, the thing is that i just do not need that many tools in one. I don't hunt or camp, and i just feel that i wouldn't be able to use it as effectily as i wish i could. I have always admired swiss knife, but i just don't think i could use it D:
And i don't mean I'm just looking at knifes (no, not emo) but i am looking for someother tools, stuff i could use around my desk, neat things that maybe you find useful.

Which is why I suggested what I did. It has many useful devices on it for around the workplace/house jobs. I own two such devices.

The things I find useful usually involves something getting set on fire........
Though I'll see what I can dig up.

So you don't hunt or camp, but you find that a sharp knife could be useful around the house. Aside from terrorists taking your family hostage, what exactly would you define a Swiss Army knife's "usefulness?"

Why are you so anti-weapon? Do you think he is some kind of murderer or something?
Technically, I could argue the usefulness of a new graphics card with more success than arguing the usefulness of a knife, but that is not my point. It doesn't matter what he needs or wants to do with it (so long as it isn't illegal). He just wants suggestions for a tool olong the lines of a utility knife or single blade (survival knife, if you will).

Agamemnon just surrfors from permanent pms, leave him WS.
I could easily argue how a knife is better to have than a graphics card >_>
usefull shit around the home?

I'm not so much as anti-weapon as I am anti-"I-want-this-because-I-think-it-would-be-cool-to-have." When my brother hit 16 he wanted a Swiss Army knife. 10 years later and the only thing he's used on it are the tweezers.
And, after all, a Swiss Army knife is designed for lesser replacements for tools you normally don't carry on you, like scissors or a corkscrew. It just seems like he wants to get a knife because he would think its cool and I was just curious.

And you suffer from horrible grammatical skills and sad, failed attempts to be funny while shitting up this forum.

I'm about to start a war against Jack Thompson tbh.
Kidding.

Have many tools, and to sort of knifes. Keep in mind those images weren't necessarily mean I'm going to want everyone of those. I need a Utility Knife, because we are working on a roof and going up and down the latter because i dropped my bulky shears of scissors becomes annoying. Even with my deep pockets. Also i do Drywall, having a sharp knife to cut out a V grove between Butt Joints makes my life so much easier and faster. Once i hit a screw i need to drop my blade and replace hit. Hence the easiness of the utility knife vs a single blade knife. Single blade knifes i admire much, i have one right now but its becoming old and the blade is rustic and sometimes will not open. Its a hassle. I use it around the house. Cutting shingles, tall weeds, rope, etc. A utility knife has a somewhat short blade and sometimes doesn't have that groove cutting thing to wards the bottom. (don't know what its called)
Yeah, if you're Rambo.
:lmao: Far from it man, faaar from it.

That makes perfect sense then, though I would recommend a knife saw. Works well for the dry wall (if you cut gently, of course).
I'm about to start a war against Jack Thompson tbh.
At least you don't run the risk of seeing him driving in his sports car when you go down to South Beach.

I have such a tool, as well as a version on my Swiss knife (I have used every attachment, including the corkscrew (though not for opening a wine bottle or such)). I actually will have to use it again when I help put up a wall in our basement for my new room.

Your killing my hands Agamemnon, but you make a very good point.
I'm not so much as anti-weapon as I am anti-"I-want-this-because-I-think-it-would-be-cool-to-have."
A knife, cool to have? I just moved from my old town about 30 minutes away and i only have 3 friends since i left middle school who i will not be seeing on my birthday because they are busy so who will i show it off to? A xbox 360 with some l33t skin would be cool to have. A knife is useful to have around the house because of what i am doing. Please, don't assume that i am going to go over my friends house who live 30 minutes away and shove it in his face. My knifes are kept outside in our shop. The ONLY time the come inside is when i can't stand the heat and they need to be sharpened.
When my brother hit 16 he wanted a Swiss Army knife. 10 years later and the only thing he's used on it are the tweezers.
When it comes to tools, knifes, hammers, saws they get used or they get sold. I nor my father just go out and buy some badass looking circular saw that can cut upside down and turn into a table saw because we can use it, but in fact we already have a circular saw and we have a chop saw that is 10 years old, still works good as new. When it comes to electronics, games yeah i will admit i have bought things that i haven't used for years. But not tools, they get used and only what we need, or in this case what i would like to have to make my day just a tad simpler.
And, after all, a Swiss Army knife is designed for lesser replacements for tools you normally don't carry on you, like scissors or a corkscrew. It just seems like he wants to get a knife because he would think its cool and I was just curious.
Agreed i can see how that would seem that way. Truth be told i love swiss army knifes but when i need to pull out the blade, OK, i have to find hurr just cut my finger nails so i can't grasp it ugh...stupid blade come here. Or i could just get a single blade knife and bing, no hassle just flip it open and continue on what i was doing. I know it seems I'm exaggerating that, but when I'm sweating and my glasses fall down to the brim of my nose frustration is just not something i want to avoid.

We have a meh camera, but yeah i might add that to my list ty :)
I mean no disrespect to you Agamemnon, you make a lot of good points i hope i can clear it up. Ask away :D

What's the point of bashing him for wanting a knife? Hell, you wouldn't be in any position to argue against him wanting a shotgun, it's not you buying it.
Also,
I'm easy to please.

Funny though,
