How do I get rid of this...

Just yesterday these appeared out of the blue and I've been trying to get rid of them:

They're the arrows. I can't even hold more than two windows a piece without getting that crap...

Not sure how you do it on XP, but on vista it's right click > lock the taskbar then move the little bars so the area that there supposed to be located is bigger, then right click again and lock the taskbar.

Uh unlock the taskbar and re-size your space thingy, yeah, or something.

Yea that didn't work... Can't resize them at all. Can only open maybe two things and I still get it.

Try setting your appearance style to Windows Classic in Display Properties.

Uh oh. Maybe in properties set everything to defaults? (There is a set to default button, right?)

Edit: If that doesn't work, try changing your resolution. I'm not very technical, but I think this might help...
