Well, after buying my DS about a year ago, I was quite disappointed to see that, though it had lots of potential, had no mature titles. I could sit for hours and tell you the great potential this system has and how little it's being used.
I personally am an FPS fan and fell in love with Metroid Prime Hunters (though online, it wasn't so much an FPS game). After that, I was disappointed to see no FPSes that pushed the DS hardware like Hunters did. I became tired of it eventually and felt almost like selling my DS...
Fortunately, though, Call of duty DS has given me second thoughts about that.

Pushing the DS to its limits and following a similar control scheme to Hunters, this game will hopefully be the best FPS on DS since Hunters.

The video blew my mind. I never knew the DS could handle shit like this.
The only thing that disappoints me is the lack of WIFI. Either way, I'll be sure to be buying this.

Damn, thats really good for a handheld. I'm glad to see a game that truely takes advantage of the DS's hardware, instead of all those 2D games.

Llamamaster, Brothers in Arms for the DS has already released and it's the first game to push the DS to its graphical limits. Its most solid point is the technical part (superb graphics with 30 fps) but it fell short in gameplay (lack of difficulty or variety). Btw BiA DS is a third person shooter but it uses stylus control like in Hunters.
I'm sure Call of Duty will take BiA's good points to the next level and add in some more. Looks awesome!
Terry, I'm sure FPS isn't the only good genre. There are plenty of great DS games out there that aren't shooters, plus a whole legacy of GBA titles.
I'm buying this for sure when it comes out, just like I did with BiA.

I know, but quite honestly, there's only a handful of mature titles for it. Also, I can use my GBA for GBA games. I was getting tired of the little japanese RPG's always popping up and the little TOUCH games.
I never said FPSes were the only good genre but the DS was lacking good ones and lately the games I;ve seen comming out don't look that appealing anymore.
And yeah, I forgot about BIA, I'll definitely get that game if I still have money in my wallet.

Id really like a mature shooter for the Wii. This looks good and all but I want to use a light gun and start blasting away terrorists......

Brothers in Arms DS isn't a bad game. The flaws are not about what it is, but about what it could have been but failed to be. The controls are creative and fun (don't believe the Gamespot review - the guy was very biased since that's similar to how more than half of all DS titles are controlled). The graphics are the best so far on the DS without any hiccups.
BiA fell short due to a lack of variety (on-foot missions are very linear, but the tank and jeep missions are awesome) the fact that you get infinite ammo in your default machine gun (WTF?), and the lack of Wi-fi support or single-card download play. There were few weapons as well. It's fun but don't expect it to last very long.
Call of Duty DS, on the other hand, looks solid and sounds more fun.
Another DS shooter that was decent but still fell short was Goldeneye Rogue Agent. It had solid visuals and a fun gameplay concept plus good controls, but dumb AI, horrible sound, and no variety brought it down.
It's a shame that developers always look first at the PSP when they make handheld shooters because of the PSP's wide screen and superior horsepower. However, the PSP's poor controls (no second analog nub) make it a poor choice for shooters. The DS's touch screen, on the other hand, is incredibly precise, not as good as a mouse but certainly superior to an analog stick. After all, while graphics are important, good graphics don't always make good games.

Metroid Prime performed terribly on the DS... I can only imagine what this is going to be like D:

I liked the Hunters demo. I don't see why it performed badly.

??? It runs very nice, and plays beautifully. Are you sure you're talking about Metroid Prime Hunters and not Metroid Prime Pinball!?!?
The only difficulty Hunters had was the learning curve to master the controls. Otherwise, it was fun. VERY. And still is. I play it online all the time.
