SpeedWorking? Is Pat obsessed with his cows again?
No...no...MUUUH!!!...I mean not this time.
Record roughly 10 mins of your desktop doing the thing you do the best...3ds max, photoshop, flash, chatting whatever...and speed that up!Upload and post it in here! I think this is going to be quite nice and interesting for everyone! :)
Ok I'll start this off...me adding the FoV feature to the HaloCE FlyCam. :)

I've been holding on to this video for a couple of weeks now, and I guess it's ripe at this point:
hPNB98pczag
It's something like 25 hours of work shown, so I'd guess the time lapse is something like 15 seconds per hour (I sped up the time lapse recording even more).
Ok, so it's a bit more than 10 minutes, but come on, I already had the video made and everything.

Nice job Rob, can't believe you only used the perspective view..
I only use the perspective viewport as well. Only time I use the others are if I'm doing 2D work for HUDs or something similar.
edit: When do you do the speeding up? Do you set it to record normally and then speed it up later or is there a setting to do that somewere? I'm using Camtasia 4.

Yea Rob's style of modeling is a common, yet effective one. I think modeling looks funny speeded up..... I would do one of these....but then i'd have to start over. Lookin' forward to more of these from people.

The H2EK doesn't work for me.... "Application has stopped working"

But i am making a new map...which will sit in reserve for H2V if i ever get it working, and ill perfect it by using H1EK (HCE).

Here's me for half an hour after after reading this thread, sped up 10x as fast as normal. No fancy editing or sound. Youtube is processing. I'll embed it here when it's done.

Hey, if it wasn't for me saying we should keep the legacy postbit, you wouldn't have it right now. Just start using it. It takes a bit to get used to, but it's much nicer to use in the long run.

Zeph that is a very productive style of modeling you use, 4 faces every 5 minutes. I should try that technique someday.

Speedwork of me making a sig similar to my current one. I flip back to it every now and then for a nice little reference on how I did it. I added a few more gradient masks then I did that one but all in all I'm not that satisfied with the outcome:

Youtube is processing, original recording was 41 minutes long.. I'm a slow modeler and also it was really late so I kept messing up when creating faces..

The link works right now, it's still processing for the picture or whatever.. just give it time :)
Also, the song was the Forrest Gump - Theme Song
EDIT 2:
Clay renders of the model near the end of the time lapse.

He Plane modeled!
Usually people who are self taught go from:
Compound Object' Modelling (Just mismashing Objects together)
Box Modelling
Plane Modelling
Then some people learn Vertice modelling...which is similar to plane modelling just more difficult.
Good modelling/movie Silentwind...Seems somone <3's you with the flashy orange at the bottom!

original recprding about an hour and a half long.
very boring video, it doesnt really show anything being MADE, just stuff getting edited and added mostly. meh, i should record the next thing i do tbh. this is actually really fun to look at.
don't tell me it doesnt look like the image in the bottom left corner, since that's just reference.

Now, this is going to sound like a really stupid question, but how do you record video of you doing things on your screen? I would do one if I knew how! XD
you could record yourself doing Lightning...if you know what I mean...that would require a camcorder :p
but I'm not a pervert so just use the application Camtasia or any freeware posted on this first page :)

Just reinstalled Camtasia and was playing around with the frame rate capture. Set it for 3 fps then to be played back at 10 times the normal speed, but it looks incredibly like a stop motion film. Anyways, what should have been a 15 minute process took an hour because I didn't plan it out. Nifty little thing I found about watching that video is the second hand on the clock in the sidebar moves really fast like this.
I think I'm going to bump the capture rate back up for my next one.

EDIT: You guys should all post your videos as video responses to Patrick's video on youtube.
