I can understand that. In lockout, they allow'd you to spawn a banshee in the middle, and at the bottom of the gravity lift there is a human turret.
Goddamn, we ended up playing slayer with 300 overshields and regular weapons for about 45mins with only three people. It was fun shit. At the very end, I took the banshee to the very top of the structure and I figured out that I can land it in a certain spot to where it would shake causing it not to respawn automatically. I waited until I had max sniper rounds and got a energy sword and went up there and was sniping the other two guys while they were shooting each other. Takes about three headshots with 300 shields to kill someone though (which makes sense). After I would run out of ammo and nades, I would switch to ES (since I had no other ammo) and swoop down to the sniper rifle pickup. I had some VERY close encounters doing such as the ES is not like it is in the retail.

The mongoose could be released since it was fully completed (minus gameplay tweaks of course) but the rest of the stuff is not even half done, one of those weapons doesn't even have textures :D So no point in releasing those, unless some creative members of the community can update them ;)

"fully completed" is relative.

IMO, the thing isn't "fully completed", even after I set it handle just like the warthog (assuming the warthog was the size of a mongoose). Either the Havok integration was fixed by released or the mongoose's physics definition is fucked up. I blame the suspension for part of it, since it likes to grind the ground after flying off higher ground onto lower. Also, the physics likes to die after you sit on it for a while and not doing anything. Sometimes, you also have to get on and get off, then get back on to get the thing moving. Later I'm going to see if that can be remedied with flagging some other cases which wake the mongoose's physics. Waterworks with a mongoose is pretty cool though, and those destroyable rocks are hawt.

The falcon would be awesome to see finished. Too bad we can't see what Bungie had in mind...

Functionality of the disintegrator is there. However, its cosmetics isn't.

Flame thrower's cosmetics are there partially. However, its functionality aren't at all. It can't hurt anything

Ye old Covenant turret is there too, but I have no cares to step foot in that thing again, thats what Halo 1 is for.

I have no intention of releasing any of the alpha\beta related content as its Bungie's IP and its non-retail content only there for testing. I'm sure there are some people at Bungie who don't like the idea that I posted videos of these things, so I'd rather not tick said people off anymore (want to to avoid any fire fights in October :-3).

Into H2V? Yes, the alpha tags are MUCH different from the current retail format. Some not so different, but its a pain as it appears bungie didn't have their versioning system in place yet (jul 04), so I can't make automated code that knows how to handle old definitions of some tags, I have to do it myself...

Its true... he did... (single shot BR when zoomed)

TBH... it's a neat idea... but.. it's absolutely worthless in gameplay (with the current BR)

If you had fully semi auto fire while zoomed it would help make it better.... but.. even then it'd be kinda lame....

I don't think so, I was playing a game with a few other people yesterday and it was really cool and worked just fine. IDK, maybe I'm just a E32003 whore...

Well, I can see why it would work just fine in a somewhat larger scale of players, but I guess they took into the thought of smaller players who are pretty serious about their game.

I mean, there's a lot to think about when thinking about the single shot, I was going over it today in my head and with my brother;

Could I possibly lock the player in zoom so damage doesn't un-zoom them? (Probably) My reasoning as to why they chose not to lock the zoom, is simply because who really wants to get the crap kicked out of them by some nearby noob who is using a PP (Which LlamaJuice pwns with I might add)

When adding a single shot in zoom while in a close quarter combat situation, what if the people spread out a bit and they need that extra accuracy to get the last shot off? Well typically, from firefights I go headlong into, I notice I try to cover my ass sometimes by taking as much cover as possible. Now that allows me some recovery time, but the other players start to just pursue, the further I get away, I notice they start to slow off on their approach sometimes and their aim get's much more accurate. With the single shot in this, it'd keep them on their toes, but at the same time, causing an unbalance unless their index finger is uber pwnage fast with an ol' analog trigger. My thoughts keep contradicting eachother, basically with single shot in a constantly changing fire fight single shot may be advantageous, but concerning yourself with the constant pull of the trigger (which with h2v they screwed up a bit), and zooming in will affect what happens, and how it's all executed.

I have plenty more questions I answer on a continual basis when I work with my stuff, or other peoples content. So when I work with something like this, I try to key in gameplay factors. With limited Human Resources, though, I can never get real results.

My most positive thoughts behind single shot are as follows;

The BR damage is quite astronomical, so with a zoomed high rate single shot fire, placed accurately, can be quite effective. When you unzoom and are in burst mode, and you are now susceptible to error, with a wider spread of bullets. With that wider spread of bullets, though, you are making up for the lost accuracy when not zoomed in with the single shot.

Single shot would deffinately give players a great advantage in big team games against snipers. I would have loved to see it in the game for this reason. (Bah, I just had a counter-thought to this one. lol)

Single shot just pwns.

In my opinion I will probably add it to my larger maps, but for smaller, close quarter/medium combat style maps, I will stick with the default weapon tag. Being that it's Microsoft's material, I would be in for some big spankin's if the single shot BR got popular on Live. But oh well, I'd rather see something that affects gameplay, H2 needs it sometimes.

I never noticed the M in his name :embarrassed:. It was just something back on a talk about the clasped bridge, and how I thought the american public was ignorant of how the government runs things until something bad happens which would have been preventable if people would open their eyes (lets talk about it another time), he disagreed with me (which I find odd based on his character) and does something smart ass on everything I say now. Obviously with the entire community on his back (and a rep stick as long as a mile) I'll always loose so I generally don't try to start fights, but I still hate the guy.

Anyway, back to the mod. Anything that we can't do in this that we could do in the original HEK (when done) and vise versa?

The majority of the people on this forum are american, and just because you aren't doesn't mean you need to start insulting me at random as soon as I start making comments on the american public, of which you don't live in.
