This is the Demo version of BioShock for PC, this zip file is the unencrypted one taken from fileplanet's servers. I am uploading it here because FilePlanet seems to have fixed the workaround for getting this demo. My upload is not spectacular, so if you have the same zip file, untouched, from FilePlanet's server, please help seed!
In addition, this is my first time making a torrent, my apologies if I have screwed it up.

Dude, it's a demo, it's supposed to be free. Although it is on a site that pirates stuff....but still, he didn't link to any pirated software. Everybody knows about that site anyway...

We all know it's a PC killer, let's just hope it has a wide range of graphic options for those of us with crappy PCs.
Well, downloading, hoping that I can play it. Here are some non-torrent mirrors made known by Penny Arcade.

It is recommended that when running the game on a minimum specification machine screen resolutions of either 640*480 or 800*600 be used. On a recommended specification machine resolutions of 1152*864 should provide good performance. On a high end machine 1280*1024 on a standard 17 inch LCD monitor will give very good performance.Cut a bit from the readme.txt. I ran through it at 1680x1050 with everything on but AA, and it was playable in the 20's to 30's. Its pretty harsh though. :p

im playing almost everything on high, exept AA and shadows ans shit, and get a decent 30-40 fps. (on my laptop hawhaw)
turned down the most CPU intensive stuff, since that's the bottleneck on my thing.

This game runs very smooth on my comp, 50-60's except in the first water part where it dips into the 35's-40's 1600x1200 resolution. With 1280x1024 its in the 80-90's. I can record video with fraps at 30 fps so I am happy, although some of the game looks less impressive then the xbox 360 version (normal maps in some places are missing it appears), but to the pc's credit other parts look better due to the higher resolutions.

Sadly photobucket resizes the images from 1600x1200 to 1024x768, but w/e
Intel C2D e6750 @ 2.66 gHz
8800GTS 320mb overclocked to 600/900
2gb ram DD2 800
I play at the graphical level shown in the screenshots.

i was really impressed with the visuals in the part with the tunnel where the airplane ass-end comes crashing into it. the doors buckling and the water splashing out with high force was some REALLY nice effects there.
the game runs surprisingly good on my pc, i just had to turn the resolustion down to 1600xsomething, because 1920x1200 made it studder a bit in some places. i managed to pull with everything maxed, exept resolution, and still get a great framerate.
Gforce Go 7900 GTX 512 mb.
4BG RAM
T3200 @ 1.66 Ghz dual core
the loading actually took a while, because i've got a slow harddrive, but its a laptop, and already stuffed, so im not complaining really.
ill take some screens too haha

Yeah. There are some frightening scenes, but nothing actually scary.
And the demo was amazing where:
you went into the bubble thing, and they showed the underwater city.
It was totally different than I had imagined it. I'm gonna buy it when it comes out. hopefully, I can buy a better gfx card before then!:D

I would like to mention it is out today. I got it for the 360, and it is GODLY. There is a twist you'd only see coming if you decided to spoil the end for yourself. (hint: Listen VERY carefully to what Atlas says.)

Did the same with Doom 3. After about an hour it became predictable and I thought the bad guys were cute :3. So I gave them a good fisting with my shotgun :3.
I need a new graphics card D=. I can only run Biosex at 1024 x 768 with everything maxed (no AA) and no global lighting. D= my 7600 GT is sad.

just got done with the demo. game seems to run very smoothly on my X1950pro.
Not only did i not find any storyline other than kill some psychotic females with wrenches, poorly made revolver, and a Tompson, but the Graphics werent nearly that good for the system specs. I saw the same stuff playing PREY, which is alot less stressful on your hardware.
The game itself i thought looked pretty stupid. all I saw was decapitating a whole bunch of those zombie things, and shooting homing rockets at mech looking things. I really saw no plot to the game like halo of Hl2. Although I did really enjoy FEAR even though It had little to no story either.

I must be dead inside.
I didn't find Bioshock scary at all (Played the 360 demo, picking up the full game this week). And i've seen nearly every scary movie and 2 have only ever scared me. My mum watched me play Bioshock the first time and she screamed at one bit, and i was like Jeeeze shush im trying to listen!
Great game though, looking forward to playing it through. I want to fight a Big Daddy....Or 'Mr. Bubbles' lol.
