My parents are amazing at finding good deals, and managed to snag me a TI-93+ Graphing Calculator for only $2. Thats right, 2 american dollars :P.
Now my question is, anyone have any good sites for downloading applications and games? Like i know a few of my friends have games like Tetris and Falling down, but is there any reliable site you can download from? I dont wanna brick this thing even if it didnt cost more than $5.

First of all, I got one for 1 dollar. Hah, pawned.

But anyways, I don't think that calculator is designed to play games. It has about a 1 MB flash drive and I used it to put a quadratic formula I got from a friend on it.

Unless you mean 93, then I have no clue what that is.

Man, I fucking left my 83+ back in my math class for one period and that thing was GONE by the time I ran back there to see if anyone had gone "oh, some fellow has left his 83+ calc, I shall be a nice MOTHER FUCKING SOB COCKSUCKER HUMAN and give it to the teacher :downs:". But no.

I had SO MANY FUCKING MATH\PHYSICS FUNCTIONS ON THAR :fuckoff:. Some I had programmed myself, others I had got from a good friend back when I lived in CT. Gah no backs, gah so much lost work <>

Whats so special about these calculators? The most complex things I've done on a calculator is cos,tan and sin, and that was piss easy.

You can install doom on them.

At least the Ti-84 silver editions.

These calculators are really useful for doing graphing (hence "graphing" calculator), systems of linear equations, and other stuff. In some Algebra II and (Pre-)Calculus classes, teachers ban these calculators from being used because it does everything for you. I think state standardized tests prohibit their use, too.

TI-89 = algebra, precalc, geometry on easy mode (hence the ban)
also helps a lot in calculus/physics (it's allowed ^_^ )

I'm one of the few in my maths class that just uses a normal scientific calculator. These fancy graphics calculators do pretty much all the work for you, I don't use them for moral reasons!!! I'll need one next year though :(

www.ticalc.org is your place for downloading games and cheater programs.

I have a TI-84 Plus Silver Edition. It's the same as the TI-83 plus but with a different exterior, USB port, clock, and 1.54 MB flash.

Not here. You can use them as long as there are no programs on it, and all calculators are purged before the exams. However, the catch to the rule is that you can use a program if you write it after the exam has started, since you have to know how the equations work in order to write the program anyways.

Yep, this calculator is for my Algebra 2 Class. Luckily though, they encourage us to use these calculators.

I play games on mine. Who can ever forget the famous game FallDown? If your lucky, you can find a ROM for your calculator, so that you don't waste your batteries making the games.

People with IQs above 20 need to be able to do real math.

I love my 89+.
Symbolic integration/differentiation is clutch.

You're in college and the most complex things you've had to do are sine, cosine, and tangent? You just shot yourself in the foot in terms of your "Americans are stupid" arguments.

Yea limited, what math courses do you take?

I still have mine, works afaik, but there's no games on it because my senior calc teacher made me purge it because I was dumb enough to play Galaxian in class. :/

I once coded a link battle game on it; you could fight locally to build your character up and then if you had the little link cable and a buddy with the same game, you could duke it out. :D

I am in the IB (International Baccalaureate) program, and I am taking Higher Level Math Year 1 (Grade 11 level). MY TI-84+ silver is good enough for me. Anyway I think the TI-89 is banned on the IB exams, but I'd still love to have one.

Yea isn't that because the calculator is too smart and can do problems itself? Jeeze, what ever happened to the four function ones.

I've always wondered why they make them out of order. Because didn't TI-89 come before TI-83 and TI-84?

Even then, the TI-89 is far more advanced than the 83 or 84.

Yea, so it's like they are making them backwards. The TI-92 has an actual keypad. It's like a mini-laptop. lol
