Pellet guns

I'm not sure if there are any pellet gun fans here... But anyhow, I'm getting my paycheck next week, and picking up myself a pellet gun. I'm looking to spend 200-250$, and a little more on pellets and a case. But I have no clue what's good. I was looking at the crosman quest 500, and so far it seems to be what I'm looking for. I want a .177 cal, with no more then 495fps so I don't need a liscence lol. Also, on a side note. It always sais "shoots up to 495 fps", meaning it is capable of shooting that fast but may not. Are there things you can do to bring the gun to its full capacity in shooting? Any feedback would be appreciated.

Those are airsoft weapons. He wants something in .177 (4.5mm) caliber, and airsoft guns fire 6mm.

Oh yes and I forgot to say, I'm only interested in a rifle at the moment. One that either comes with a scope or is compatible for one.

pretty much indestructible, severe accuracy. that's what i've had for YEARS. i've put probably 5k rounds through the sucker and it's still shooting better than my friend's brand new one.

stock scope is decent, but but some larger diameter optics on it and you're going to get a brighter sight picture, and it really makes a difference. i know my rifle well enough to noscope limes from 40 yards.

the only upgrade i've got on mine right now is some 3-9x scope and c-thru scope rings so i can ironsight as well. looking at a 40x scope at the moment, and a bipod. i would recommend PBA rounds (performance ballistics ammo), which go 1,250 fps muzzle velocity, versus the standard 1000 fps muzzle velocity lead rounds.

also get match grade/wadcutters for daily shooting.

Anyways, I've used the gun SnaF is advertising (friend has one), and I have to agree with him on its performance. Can't say I like the look though, it isn't sleek enough for my taste.

No. TM still has guns with better internals, CA is catching up though, my CA36K is amazing, I've probably put about 4k rounds through it so far and it hasn't lost any power or had many feeding problems or stripings.

However, you can't beat Systema :awesome:.

As for air rifles, I've got a Crosman RepeatAir 1077 (http://crosman.com/site/listing/1029) never had any problems with it, but it's kinda weak tbh. I've seen upgraded airsoft guns more powerful then a lot of air rifles.

only 430 fps? weaksauce. for that much money, i could spit harder than that.

also, warsaw, they do have other gamo air rifles you might like, such as the shadow series. more modern looking, for sure, including fluted barrels, and very bright (especially for stock) scopes. good magnification as well. i'm trying to convince my friend to get a RDS, as it would look :awesome: with that. no magnification but what the hell, give it a go.

Where exactly do you live with such laws? I know in the US (generally speaking) that if it is a projectile propelled by the rapid expulsion of compressed air, you don't need a license for it. You just have to be 18 or older to buy it (or have a parent purchase the weapon).

Also, I am liking the Gamo Shadow, CFX, and Viper Shotgun series.

also my cousin had a crossbow. had it for a few years and used to head down to the beach and set up targets to shoot on the dunes.
first shot he ever did the arrow went though the board and into the sand. after about 5 minutes he found the arrow, with a rat skewered in it.
unluckiest rat ever.

shame the cops confiscated it from him tho. he had an orage cannon that he used to fire apples, oranges, scraps and a hole lotta shit at the golfers on the golf course. attracted some attention and they came in and found his crossbow. bastards.
he used to have home movies of him just fireing oranges and shit and once he put to much hair spray in and the cannon took off and flew lol. had to destroy the movies tho cause now there incredibly illegal for some unknown reason.

Russian gun laws are pretty bad too. You have to own a single-shot smooth-bore weapon for so many years before you can even buy a rifle, and then you have to own that for so many years before you can purchase a repeater. And it must be transported from place to place in pieces.
