Sennheiser HD555s. The best headphones ever, for any gaming and for novice audiophiles. Buy them, you won't be disappointed.

What do those run for? And do they have a detachable mic?

They are about $110 - $150.

They are amazing though, and they don't have a mic, but you can buy a USB desk mic or a regular mic around your neck, they are awesome. A lot of pro gamers use them because their situational sound is superb, I can hear people from any direction in CS:S easily, and even on my TV headphone out for Halo.

lawl, I have cheap ass logitech's with built in microphone that I got for 30 bucks, the situational sound is.....acceptable for me. I actually think sticking speakers on the floor works just as well as the headphoes though. mic is decent too.

E: Shoulda mentioned that wasn't a purchase suggestion, far from it.

I want a headset not only for LAN gaming but also late night gaming, and to take to tourneys and look cool. I think I might bite the bullet and get some Astro Gaming A40's once my friend gets his and I test em out. Although I will probably wait for the wireless version of them before I buy.

$45

They also have a headset. I have had a pair for about a year now and they've never failed and they seriously block out the noise. I mean, once you get into a game, that's all you'll be able to hear.

I have sennheiser HD205 and I am really happy with them, I would rather listen to music with them then listen to music off a speaker and they only were $50. I bet the HD555 are even more kick ass though.

Mine costed $15!
Best thing I ever bought!
They don't block out everything, but I'm fine with that!
