It's hot and humid here in SoCal as always. We're lucky to even experience a thunderstorm twice in a year. But I was just issued a severe thunderstorm warning in my area.:awesome:

WHAT...THE...FUCK!? I was just issued a tornado warning...the Day After Tomorrow is coming true.:o

It's pretty damn odd how this summer California has been receiving a butt load of humidity and chances of storms. And how everywhere else the same.(East coast, Australia)

The state of Colorado has technically been in drought for about 7 years now, and it was particularly bad last year-

which is why it totally friggin rocks that for the entire summer this year it's rained almost every day.

Today was a good example of Colorado Weather(tm): For about 15 minutes this afternoon it was pouring rain so hard it was running off the streets in sheets 5 inches thick, and the wind was blowing the rain so it had more horizontal velocity than vertical. And now, no more than an hour later, the sky is bright and sunny, with very few clouds in sight.

Actually thats not far from fiction, its estimated that the earth will enter its next Ice Age in the next 30 years, this is a cycle on how it cools its self. So when that day comes, something like The Day After Tomarrow should happen.

Germany sounds nice. My mom used to live there. She also lived in Sweden, England, France, Switzerland, and the surrounding countries. Her dad was in the Military, so they moved everywhere, until finally being stationed in Florida, then Ontario, California, which is about 15-20 minutes away from my current house, and where my mom turned 18 and my grandpa retired.

Yeah, I get it in my area, too. It's when these strong winds (Known to most around here as the Santa Anna Winds) with speeds of 15-30 MPH start to blow, AND it's raining. The rain gets caught on the wind, and goes sideways. It doesn't go exactly sideways, it's angled down about 5 degrees, but it's still Horizontal, mostly. Happens in October-November, sometimes lasts up until May in the bad years.

NO....more like 40-60 mph winds. Last time the winds came to my neighborhood, I LOST POWER. It was that strong. And it never rains when its windy at my location.

Jay2645
September 3rd, 2007, 06:54 PM
It really depends on the year, on average they are 15-30 MPH, but they have been known to speed up to 40-60 near the middle of the season. It's horrible. The winds are cold and fast, power goes out, it's just horrible.

Seems like most of this forum is from either Australia or SoCal.

Well looks like everyone else got our heat. here in Texas, where we usually get rain a few times in spring and fall and none at all in winter/summer, It has been raining alomst every day since early may up until early august, and isntead of hitting 110 degrees every day as usual durring the summer , its been low 90s mid 80's. I didnt have to mow but once all summer....

I believe this was the lowest summer temp since like 1910, and most summer rain ever, but i might be mistaken....
