How do you get an object that has a transparent property to actually render transparent using mental ray daylight high settings.

stupid question, but have you set up the transparency properly in the MR material?

Actually good question, Tweek. The objects that I want to appear as transparent in my render have not had a material applied to them. Although it has been several months since I last used the material settings to produce a transparent object, I think I still remember how to do that.
In all honesty, I was hoping for a quick way to do it with out applying a material yet since I am undecided on the particular bitmap. I know that I could put a place holder in there, but I was hoping I could circumvent that for sake of an easy clay render.
Is doing it this way pretty much out of the question?

You can just change it's opacity without putting a bitmap on it you know...

Yeah, I know. I went ahead and applied the material and adjusted its opacity. What I was trying to do was maintain the color of the object (i.e. blue) while having transparency without applying a bitmap. I just remembered I can give a material a color as well without a bitmap using th Material editor. Thanks anyways fellas. It is amazing what I forget when I have not done it in a reasonable amount of time.
