Well i had to format do to weird cache files that would not delete that was taking 170gigs. Now when i run these programs they will not run.
3ds max 6-9
halo 2 vista
halo 2 vista editing kit
photoshop cs2/ cs3
filezilla
smartftp
cuteftp
zune
windows media player
internet explorer
world of warcraft
silkroad
quick time
to name a few
all they do is load then crash no error report nothing
I have emailed M$ (like they can do anything) - about 4 days ago and i am still waiting on a response.
Please can anyone help me.
What i have done :)
formatted hard drive and reinstall vista 3 times
tried 3 different hard drives
tried different drivers (Newer and older)
try installing only on software at a time and restarting it after each one (that didnt do much b/c it was only certain programs that i used that worked)

Oi...uh System Restore to the day before it screwed up? Unless you're sure you don't want to.

Do you have your OS on one hard drive and the applications on another? That's the only thing I can think of that would cause this problem. It might take a long time (read: days), but try writing zeros or random patterns to the entire drive. That's the only way to be sure the registry is gone. If you just do the Windows Format, it still leaves it there as an anti-piracy measure.

I thought of that at first b/c wow was on my D:/ but zune/ 3ds max/ h2v are on my C:/. But what was weird is that it worked before i had to format due to the stupid cache files.

Sry for the double post (dont banned me :) ) but i talked to microsoft for 7hrs straight twice. They told me to run this beta spyware protections software. The funny thing is all the spyware is from them. Halo CE, Halo 2 vista/ HEK, Office, Visio. And they had control over my computer so they where the ones running it lol. After they saw it was there programs leaving spyware all I heard was dead silence and they hung up. Wow. I am still running the program. Takes a while due to 800gigs of space :). Thought I like to share my adventures in the Microsoft Service world.:lol:. I hope this works.
