Well, the demo is out. You can choose your mirror here (http://community.enemyterritory.com/index.php?q=node/130). The demo is much better than the beta, and the graphics look hawt! The game is objective-based, so while "run and gun" works, it's best to work with your team. The game has a slight learning curve, but it doesn't take away from the fun.

I encourage everybody to give it a try :)

Odd, that almost sounds like I'd be able to play it with a PC that hasnt been upgraded since 2005 (and it was mid range then). Must be like H2v where the minimum system requirements gets you the ability to launch the game, but it's completely unplayable.

It's based on an upgraded Doom 3 engine. It should be less demanding than H2V, plus the high requirements are justified by fantastic visuals. Anyway the requirements are similar to Quake 4's, save for video memory requirement (then again 128MB+ is a must these days). Quake 4 was more demanding than Doom 3 but wasn't a bitchy hog like other games. And if I remember, one of Doom 3's best points was that it didn't look like an eyesore at low settings and you could hit 30 fps if you just made minimum requirements.

I think my 7600 GT should handle the game fine, around the settings of Quake 4 (1280x720 windowed on full).

How's it better than the beta? I don't feel like downloading it to find out.

Better graphics, the map is much more balanced, better hit-detection, better netcode, anti-lag features... 5,000 more people playing :p Better sound... some more stuff... overall, it's just better :)

2.8 GHz? Weird, I have 2.4 GHZ and I can play it just fine.

Like I said, it's a Doom 3 engine, it's more forgiving than many other engines except Source.

haven't downloaded yet, will do so this weekend.

Well, it does rely pretty heavy on bump-maps :P

I have Quake 4, and I can play it on medium settings at 1024 x 768 windowed on my rx1600, so I guess I can try playing this. My processor is degrading in usefulness a lot faster than my video card, though.
