Never be a hero on company time:
A waiter in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., who left his shift to rescue a woman being attacked by an armed carjacker was fired after the heroic effort.
Police said a 22-year-old woman was attacked by a knife-wielding man outside the 84 Thai Food restaurant in the Southland Shopping Center on Monday.
Restaurant waiter Juan Canales spotted the attack and ran to help.
Canales said he tackled the culprit, who police identified as Albert Means, and held him until police could arrive.
However, when Canales went back to work, he said his boss terminated him.

lol, the funny thing is if the local paper sees this, that restaurant will lose much more money in sales then whatever it lost while the employee was busy being a hero.

What possible reason could the owner want someones meal to come first before someone being stabbed?

Say hello to the average business owners' care for humanity.
Which is ironic, because hating your customer has a tendency to be bad for business. Unless you're a soup nazi. Then I am full of crap.

It was on Channel 7. It'll probably go on for a week before he gives him the job back. The media makes quick work of making people look like Hitler down here.
