View Full Version : h2vista really slow and not-working and stuff

Tweek

anyone else having problems with this?

pages take over 3-5 minutes to load, only to result in a 500 error, about internal server errors.

then trying to hit the edit button, and watching that http://www.h2vista.net/forums/h2vista_v2/misc/progress.gif image for 5 minutes, resulting IN A 500 ERROR!

All of it.

Yah this has been driving me crazy. Sometimes it works fine, sometimes it takes minutes, and sometimes it fails altogether. It's getting really annoying. :(

I thought I was the only one that this was happening to. :/ oh well, check your other programs that are running that might be using up the banwith(SP?), I've had this very same problem crop up when I'm downloading something, or letting my computer do some upgrading. if that's not the problem, try restarting the computer.

Errr, no, It's a problem with the site, not us.

Be nice if we all had fiber optic T3.If only this slowdown was a bandwidth issue.

Someone's stealing the shared hosting megahurtz.

Needs to be paired up with some lame sites that don't get used.

p0lar_bear
September 14th, 2007, 02:48 AM
It's a problem with the SQL servers; I can view any images or HTML pages no problem, but the minute I attempt to use anything that uses MySQL (forums, wiki), it gets all slow like.

Apparently this host has had these issues in the past. Someone needs to formally complain about it.

Get rid of Ghost's furry porn. Problem solved.

Zeph

The bandwidth is perfectly fine. The problem seems to be too much CPU utilization on our shared hosting.

Hey, hey, hey! You guys are looking at this all wrong! You've got plenty of time to read a book while you wait for this site to load. Be thankful for that!

Yeesh. Kids these days and their "connection speeds." What ever happened to the good old days?

InnerGoat

I'm currently blaming Jcap for the slow site. You guys should too. :awesome:

Heh, so some of you do recognize my work. The missus says I'm going through a remissive stage in my life.I mean, hell, I'm only 58! I still mow the lawn! I still run this show!

Oh, sorry. Was getting a bit carried away there, heh. I was taken by surprise how quick this site loaded. I was hoping it was going to continue going slow, even on my connection.

CodeBrain
September 14th, 2007, 07:54 PM
Apparently it has been done to my home website as well.

Recently, a massive bandwidth muncher discovered halopc.net, and ate up a huge ammount of our hosting. Therefore, the site will be limited to forums only. The archive, file uploading, offsite linking and board images will be disabled until this is resolved.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Guys.....Someone is betraying us.....[/arbiter]

Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...

Dreamhost hase such a high bandwidth limit that you'd never go over the limit even if downloading 24/7. ;)

Bill Slowsky
September 14th, 2007, 08:04 PM
Oh? If that's the case, then why would the site be going so slow? I mean, I'm not going to lie here. My connection speed has been known, on occasion, to load pages quicker, but that's only when I'm not deleting the cookie folders every five minutes. And hey, I haven't deleted the cookie folder in the past fifteen minutes.

It almost seems like this is a dream come true. Hopefully it doesn't change.

Oh, you feel all tough insulting a turtle, huh? Big man on campus now, huh? I knew a kid like you in college. His name was Toucan Sam. Yeah yeah, so he was college quarterback. Well, guess what! Sammy's now on a cereal box!

Moral of the story. I'm married and you're going to end up on a cereal box if you cause me grievances.

Bastinka

He wasn't insulting you, as far as I can see. Also, being married can and can't be a good thing. Pros/cons. No need to brag about it, also why do you wanna stick with dial-up. I'm still using 85 kbps download speed, already said but w/e, and I'm patient. People see it as a waste of time but like zeph said its the server not really the people.

EDIT: For a cereal box he probably is a multi-millionaire.
New moral: Better to be a cereal box, then married.

Hey, we turtles are proud creatures. My Turtle-sense was just tingling. I sometimes can't help it. My doctor tells me it's just athlete's foot though. Meh. What does he know. He has a high-speed connection.

Oh, and Toucan Sam is working on his fourth marriage. He's also a non-recovering alcoholic. It was on the news last night. Didn't you see it?
