I was under the impression that you unlocked more permutations the further into the campaign you got, but that may be completely wrong.

I'll do the same as I did for H2 and make about 50 profiles using practically everything at least once, and then use one slightly more than the others.

Probably a standard/Ranger Elite.

Apart from HUD color and the physical size/shape of the biped, are there any real gameplay differences between each permutation? By the way, one permutation being "easier to snipe because it has a bigger head" does not count as a gameplay difference.

In Halo 2, Elites and Spartans in MP have no differences in gameplay, but some enthusiasts claim that Elites are easier to headshot or something.

Maybe for Usze 'Taham or N'Tho 'Sraom (the two other playable elites in online or system link co-op) but if you were going to do that with the Arbiter or the Chief, wouldn't the storyline go a whole different direction? It would be weird how the two main guys would get these new helmets, shoulder pads, exc. in just a short period of time (storyline wise) without us knowing how they got them in the first place.

The visor is a little too small on the Mk. V, and it looks way off when used in conjunction with the Mk. VI lower body and arms, which brings me to the next point: I hope we can change the rest of the armor too, and not just the head, chest, and upper arms.

Also, I am not liking the Spartan helmets that give the impression of two separate, glowing eyes.
