It's google's 9th birthday :D

Happy Birthday, our dear Google! Ladies and gentlemen, I probably have enough room in my house to host all those of you that didn’t ever used or at least heard about Google, so today we should have parties all around the world, because the most notorious search engine and the best company to work for celebrates its 9th anniversary!

The whole story started back in 1996, shaped as a research project, its parents being Larry Page and Sergey Brin, and the original search engine was nicknamed “BackRub”, but that’s history already. Before I return to my Google party here, there’s one more interesting thing that needs to be known…

According to various sources, including Wikipedia, but not limited to it, Google.com was registered in 1997, but the site became functional only one year later. On the 15th of September, the domain name had its 10th anniversary,Wikipedia says the incorporation date is the 7th of September, and today is the 27th! Even more, according to other sources, the incorporation papers were filled on the 4th of September, 1998, so it’s all a big puzzle, and we don’t know when to expect next birthday of this Internet giant, but until next time…

damn, dude, i remember a time before google. what a long way we have come in only a few short years. who would've guessed 10 years ago that google would be such an invaluable resource.

it's odd to think our generation's kids will never know a world without internet, and they'll find it unthinkable that we ever did.

yer, I remember being encouraged to use yahoo at school, then i'm like "no miss, google is better" and she's like no, use yahoo (the kiddy version no less).

then seemingly overnight (atleast a year after I first suggested it) it's like "use google it's better" and I'm like >_>
