Hey I'm new to the forums and i have a few questions. #1 Can you add new weapons into the game without getting rid of one? #2 What program would I use the edit weapon models and abilitys? #3 You know how you can switch skins between elite and spartan. Could you add another skin to the selection? Thanks

You can't do any of those, but you can modify the weapons such that the battle rifle shoots rockets, and so on.

Trust me, H2V's editing kit is so locked, you can't even make your own trees. So forget about custom player skins, weapon models, or vehicles. You're limited to switching weapons and their projectiles, and making simple environments (as in custom level geometry).

3ds Max is required to texture and export the map. You can model in whatever you want. I model with Maya.

You create the actual 3D objects using Maya, and use 3ds Max to texture/export them, and finally use the H2V editing kit to fully inject it in-game.

As of now, H2V is not really worth making custom content for. The community is way too small (blame Microsoft for making it Vista exclusive, and blame Hired Gun for porting it so poorly) so few people will be able to appreciate your work. Even when Vista finally becomes a true standard OS via service packs and XP just dying out, Halo 2 won't get any more popular.

If you enjoy creating custom content for games, Halo 2 is not the best choice, trust me.
