So yesterday I picked up Enemy Territory: Quake Wars. So far it's an awesome game, well worth actually buying it . I'm probably going to do a video review on it, is there anything you guys want me to include or something you don't normally see in video reviews? Or if you have any questions/comments about the game, post them here. :)

Tell me this, did you know what you were doing in the demo?

The game has a steep learning curve as far as multiplayer games go... I'd check out ET:QW For noobies (http://4newbies.planetwolfenstein.gamespy.com/ETQW/) if you haven't done so...

I honestly can't tell you if you'll get bored... There's tons of stuff to do once you get the hang of it.. explain why you got bored, and maybe I can help :)

Can you actually, you know, switch vehicle SEATS in the full game? That pissed the Hell right out of me in the demo.

I'm looking forward to buying my copy on December. A big bummer I heard from reviews is the complete lack of in-game voice chat - does it not work with the very open Doom 3 engine or something? You can use TeamSpeak, but that's only applicable if you play a "planned match" - that is, one that is scheduled by a clan.

But still, it looks very exciting. I'd call it "Quake meets Battlefield 2." And the Doom 3 engine is more forgiving than most modern game engines, so it should run very well on my machine.

yeah, i really did know what i was doing, and i got in 1st place like EVERY SINGLE GAME! there's just no challenge whatsoever. if like everyone playing the game fucking stupid? getting like 10 ranks per game in the demo, and ending up on like rank 29 at the end of game 3 and thens eeing people still on like rank 4 who've been playing the same time is taking the piss tbh.

that's why it got boring.
fuck i can even fly that gay strogg aircraft with skill, and apparently thats like way hard and stuff, because everyone loves to go upsiude down and ctash into houses and shit with it.

and yeah, it's a way upgraded doom 3 engine. and i can play with everythign on high on like 60+ fps. most people should be able to run it.

What about how teamwork is an important part of beating this game?

My friend bought this game and I'm going to look at it this friday. He told me in hospital a week ago, that it's main point is teamwork. Frags don't matter, you hack computers, spy and act as an enemy, blow up enemys' tactical objects and so on.

I'd call it simply Enemy Territory + Battlefield series + Quake series. I haven't played the game though =)

Tweek I had the exact same feeling. Picked up the demo and I swear every player sucked at actual combat or something. I ranked up 6 times in my first game and I had no idea what the hell I was doing. Even when I did find out I still rank up like hell because everyone else seems to be incapable of aiming.

I mean I've killed vehicles with the hyperblaster, and not a small number either.

I know its about teamwork but when your going for an objective and you mow down several people with various weapons more powerful than the one your carrying it gets boring. I swear its like a fuckton of strategists (Oh they had some brilliant maneuvers. Its just kind of hard to pull it off when they can't aim) joined and just found out how to aim with the mouse. Cause well.......I don't think they could hit the side of a barn....literally.

If the experience changes in the full game tell me otherwise I'm going to hold off on this one.

VoIP is planned for the next patch. It was removed in the closed beta when competitive teams said it wasn't needed, then during beta 1, everybody wanted it, so they're putting it in.

Ah, I see why you guys were bored. And tbh, it really was that way in the demo. There were tons of noobs, and you could hardly find a clan server to fight some decent people. It's not really that way in the full game. There's much better people... of course, different maps/objectives etc... oh, and there's persistant stats (http://stats.enemyterritory.com/) :)

Every new campaign, you restart with 0XP, otherwise it could get very unfriendly with the newbies.
