View Full Version : Who has insomnia?

The interwebs give me insomnia. I just can't sleep with my computer 5 feet away from me. It calls to me... "get on the internet! there's new content on digg! there are funny pictures on b3ta! there are hilarious flamewars on h2v!"

It's getting worse. I'm tired, and my body desperately wants to sleep, but my brain refuses to even think of sleeping.
It's 2 am now and I'm not even close to being able to sleep yet.

Anybody else get insomnia?

in before rossmum.

I have trouble getting to sleep (I can go to bed at 10 and still be lying awake at 12) but nothing too bad.

not really.

i'm a trady so i get to do physical shit all day. one of the perks of the job is to just come home and crash ;)

however if i do have something really creative going through my head such as how i'm going to build a new Desk and teh size/wood used and cost of making it then i have a bit of trouble.

I hardly call any of you insomniacs. Try three days of not being able to force yourself to sleep, then we'll talk.

I suffer from a stage of Insomnia due to my scoliosis pressing on my pelvis, which shifts nerves in my spine. I get about 7 hours sleep a week. Some times thats all in one night. It causes me violent 'shaking' headaches which are annoying and never go away.

Try not having sleep for 2 weeks, then we'll talk :p lol.

And yey for me, it has nothing to do with over computer/xbox use :P Wooo...More Halo 3....

K good, then I should stop whining. I average about 30 hours a week, 40 on a good one. It's not the sleeping itself that's a problem to me- once I'm asleep it takes a friggin sonic boom to wake me up- but I just can't get myself to fall asleep. I'm not active enough, and I don't eat healthy enough, and I should just stop complaining. Lol.

I'm not insomniac at all. I think I sleep something like 65 hours/week.
I sleep, at least, 8 hours per night, can't do less.

>_>

I limit myself to about 8 hours nightly; it's dangerous to sleep longer than that, apparently.

Anyone who has trouble sleeping should fap in bed, simultaneous muscle relaxation=sleep.

anyway, I get about 7 hours of sleep when I've been working hard in the evening, 6-5 when not.

Choosing NOT to sleep and NOT BEING ABLE to sleep are two different things.

And FireDragon, I was never suggesting I went days without sleep, just saying that all these "oh its still 5am and I'm up lulz insomnia" aren't real cases of insomnia. Hypochondriacs.

Hey, at some level, you've got to define where to draw the line between perhaps subconsciously choosing not to sleep and being physically unable. I think I fall somewhere inbetween, that is, if it got really bad and I tried really hard I'd be able to sleep better. But as it is it's just me lying in bed wishing I could sleep until sometime around 2-3 am, and I have to get up at 6 am every day. It's not working out very well for me.

Every muscle in your body simultaneously relaxes?
Also, if you did what I did this weekend you'd have no trouble sleepin:D

I wouldn't call it so much of insomnia rather then myself having a screwed up sleeping schedule. I end up hanging out really late or all night on the weekends, and then not being able to fall asleep when I should during the week, and being tired all day at work. I do have the odd nap at around 7 pm when it finally catches up to me that I've only slept a couple hours a night.

Well, lately I stay up late, and thus i sleep like a fucking baby the next day, but when I was younger I used to not be able to sleep for about 4 hours after going to bed. I guess it was that time I was sure I was staring at a monster/alien outside my window. Had a big grey oval head with no visible eyes and just a giant mouth that kept expanding and compressing, kinda like an asshole. Laffle xD

I stay up late... but only becuase I don't want to go to sleep.

Going to sleep means waking up, and thus going back to school. :(
