Halo 2 Vista No Install

Help i have a problem installing halo 2 on my vista what happens is i install it and near the end it says if i would like to retry or cancel install and i try both and nothing happens but it says it need somthing like cant find maps\shared.map but i explored he cd and it is in there any ideas

is there something wrong with your disc? like bad scratches or defects? that may be the problem

That happened to me before, there were two reasons for me:

Make sure you do not have any toolbars/shortcuts leading to said folder (I was reinstalling the Map editor, it gave me that error.

The next one would be that your drive cant support it, I couldnt do it on one drive, so i did it on to my external hard drive, and it worked.

might be a scratched disc, hopefully not.

Also make sure that nothing is running in the background while installing.
